I have been trying for the past couple of yrs to sort out the payment of property tax. There are 2 nos. Generated for my house - one in the previous owner's name which considers the amt he has already paid and there is a new no. Generated in my name which takes into account the due from the date the house was built which is not right. My request to cancel the new no. And change the name in the old no. And accept payment which is the simple solution is not getting acknowledged.
I too want to ensure the due tax is being paid but there is no one owning this up and have gone to the corporation office multiple times... Only being asked to come back later. Would seriously request the authorities to focus on solving the confusion that they have created and all i am trying to do is pay the tax... Don't understand why we are put through such pain. Is it my fault? I want to be responsible tax payer and this type of treatment is not fair for a duty i wish to do as a responsible citizen. Hope this helps in arriving at a solution.
