[Resolved]  Chrysalis High, Whitefield Assetz Marq — Non Refund of Admission and School Fees - After Admission Cancellation

Dear Sir/Madam,

My family was supposed to move to Bengaluru from Coimbatore during May 2022 and I was looking School admissions for my two daughters for Academic Year 2022-23 Bengaluru.

I contacted Chrysalis High Marq, Whitefield school on 1st Dec 2021. Admission team from the school confirmed that they can take up admission for my two daughters and requested me to pay the admission fees and Phase 1 fee fully, upon which the seats will be confirmed.

Since I had to pay fees for my two kids, I requested them that I will pay 50% of fee as first installment in December and remaining 50% of fee during January 2022, for which the school agreed.

I paid a total of Rs 1, 68, 302 and below is the break up for the same.

Kid 1:
Admission Form Fee - Rs. 1, 000
Admission Fee (One-time) - Rs. 20, 000
Phase I Fee - Rs. 56, 514
Total - Rs. 77, 514

50% as on 17.01.2022 - Rs. 38, 757

Kid 2:
Admission Form Fee - Rs. 1, 000
Admission Fee (One-time) - Rs. 20, 000
Phase I Fee - Rs. 66, 788
Robotics - Rs. 3, 000
Total - Rs. 90, 788

50% as on 04.12.2021 - Rs. 45, 394
50% as on 17.01.2022 - Rs. 45, 394

I was requested to visit the school in person on March 14th to confirm fee payment for School uniform/shoes and we paid Rs. 14, 120 towards the same directly in school that day.

Unfortunately, we had to drop our Bengaluru shifting and hence on April 13th, I informed school that I won't be moving to Bengaluru and requested school to cancel the admission and refund the fees paid.
They asked me to send an email, but informed me saying they cannot return the fees once paid. My several phone calls and emails went in vain as they were too stubborn saying its given in the admission form that 'Fees Paid cannot be refunded'.

They returned only Rs. 14120 which was paid towards school uniform - since it was paid to a Third Party and not paid to school.

Even though the school was expected to start from June, and I informed about my situation well in advance (nearly 1.5 months) and requested for the cancellation of admission, they were still not ready to refund the above paid fees. Situations like this are too disappointing and shocking and the school should understand this.

Now that I need to pay fees here in Coimbatore school as well and this is adding a burden to me.

I request school authorities to look into this matter immediately and refund all the above paid fees as soon as possible. If I am not getting any response to this, then I will take further action against the school.
