I, Dr N.Varadaraj, Member, (RTD) central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources, Govt . of India is residing at 11A/31, Swami Sivananda Salai, Rasipuram. (e mail :[protected]@yahoo.co.in)after 35 years central service including Namakkal district in Tamil nadu and was associated with Rain water harvesting programs and bore well construction under central schemes. Perumal konar layout approved vide file number 877/84 and approval 14/84 of Rasipuram municipality in which i have my residential house. The lay out is having about 4000 sq.ft public land with present market value of about Rs 60 lac. Presently, some private persons have erected sheds and put display board, claiming it as private land. I have the copy of original lay out site plan details as given by the chartered civil engineer which was submitted by me to municipal authority for house plan approval, showing the indication of public purpose land ( we were told as park area)
The local residents are also concerned about the encroachment and on my own behalf and the locals behalf, i prefer the complaint to the District collector and concerned authorities to intervene and stop the encroachment. Also, the creation of park for public purpose may be made with any of the fund available in welfare schemes in the district
