We paid in advance to a Douglas Armstrong o[censored]K for a 6 night stay at his rental villa in Formosa Gardens at 7910 Sea Pearl Circle, Kissimmee, FL 34747. When we arrived, we found that the photos we had seen were actually NOT 2 separate bedrooms but one single room with three double beds photographed to look as if there were indeed additional sleeping facilities rather than one, communal room. Having planned to stay there with my children and their children, this did not provide the right amount of rooms.
That was just the beginning: the roaches came out shortly after sunset and then we noticed that the ants were swarming in through the walls while piles of dead ants accumulated in all corners and across carpets and floors! Dishes in cabinets were filthy; lighting was not working (due to 'electrical issue' per local management company; security system was not actively working; there were no bath towels, just an array of old mismatched beach towels; we had paid $30 per day for pool heat and even with temperatures in the high 80's, the pool was too cold to use. When I call owner to let them know how unhappy I was and how our Thanksgiving week was going to be ruined, he was rude, arrogant and would make absolutely no provision for restitution of any kind. We had to find another location, move everything and everyone out and pay for a new villa while losing all of the money that we had used for the villa from Douglas Armstrong.
