I agree that they are super rude but I've had a very different experience. They ask you to get off treadmills and cross trainers after 10 mins during peak hours. I mean, how rude is that! Not to mention the fact that they are actually going against a fitness fact - the body starts burning fat only after 20 minutes of cardio. For any cardio-vascular workout to to be effective, you need to do it for 20-45 minutes.
Of course, the reason they're asking people to get off machines after 10 minutes is that there are other people waiting for their turns. But so what? Is that really a member's fault? And how dare Abs dictate how long I should work out? That's my freaking prerogative, not theirs. Plus, they asked me to alter my schedule to come in during the afternoons. I have a job that I'd like to keep, no thank you. And please don't ask me to rearrange my life to accomodate your failure.
If they have a problem with too many members, they should assess their business model, which is in very plain words, wholly focussed on just 1 thing: MONEY MONEY MONEY
That's all they care about, not whether they are providing their members with the righful services and value for their money.
If you are serious about your workouts I suggest you join a gym where you set expectations before starting. Abs is definitely not the place (they aren't even able to provide me with a marathon training programme that I specifically requested for). On the other had, if you're the kind that still has your make-up on after your workout (or social outing), this IS the place!

ABS Sports Club — Downright rude with no respect for serious workouts
