I have given my Maruthi Swift VXI for service..I have been the regular customer of ABT Maruthi, ambattur industrial estate for more than 10 years. On 2nd Jan'12 , i had given my car Maruthi-swift-vxi-- for servicing which has run 58000kms. The service included slight body work and service.
What has irked me was the huge amount charged under labour.
Many of the Auto OEM's are setting up their plants in India only bcos of two reasons. a.Market potential and b.Cheap labour.
The total service charge is Rs 21647/-- and out of which the cost of accesories, oil etc is Rs 14592/- and the labour charge was Rs 7054/- Invoice No.BR11003243.dated 10/01/2012.
I did not have such a bitter experience when the unit was working as a service centre. Having started the show room there, I strongly feel that ABT team is now charging their fixed overhead expenses on the customers who come for servicing.
I feel this as a clear case of taking the customers for a ride, that too who have great trust on Maruthi products .
ABT as a dealer, should take note of this and quickly revise their pricing strategy particularly on labour.
