On 1st May, 2013, I received a telephone call, who introduced himself to be speaking from Master/ Visa Card. He informed me that against my reward points accrued on my SBI Credit Card, I am being offered discounts and other benefits (like free holiday trip, reimbursement of dinning bill, dental check-up etc). Towards this, he demanded my credit card detail. When I insisted not to provide the detail, he put me in touch with his superior and then next superior. The so called Senior Supervisor persuaded me to divulge the detail and requested me to consent YES to a call of Cache Mercantile for Rs.6,999/- (Rupees Six Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety-nine). I was promised that this amount would be adjusted from reward points and credited to my card.
Immediately, after consenting YES, Rs.6,999/-was debited to my credit card,. But, there was no credit. I then contacted SBI Card Help Line, who told me that there was no such offer and it might be a case of fraud. They advised me to to request Cache-Mercantile for reversal of transaction. I followed the advice and requested Cache-Mercantile for reversal of transaction. Their customer Care Cell have promised that they will contact me again within 10-15 days for confirming transaction or otherwise. I am looking forward for it and hope that they will reverse it. I shall be grateful for it. If they do not reverse it, the deal would be concluded ascheating being effected by an unfair nexus between Cache Mercantile and such fraud agencies. Looking forward for a settlement, I remain . . . Mithilesh K. Jha Was this information helpful? |
