[Resolved]  Cosmetic Surgery Clinic — hair transplant

I am a resident of Kolkata. I went to the above Cosmetic Surgery clinic, situated at 12, Laudon Street, suite 3C, Kolkata 700 017, run by Dr. Manoj Khanna (Tel. Off.[protected] /[protected] for my hair transplant. I was told one hair follicular unit ( consists of 1 to 4 hairs as per individual's growth) costs Rs.70/-. I opted for 1000 units and went for the surgery. During the transplant, I was told that 175 units of hair are remaining extra and what to do with them. I told them not to waste them and transplant them also as exact number o[censored]nits cannot be removed from the back of ones head. After necessary operation I came home and saw in the mirror that the transplanted area seems to be very less. Then I had a doubt and told my son to take some photographs of the transplanted area. Then the photographs were transferred to my computer, zoomed them out, made small sections on the screen with marker pen and it was very easy to count the grafts (the pores). To my utter surprize I found that the grafted units were at the most only 700 and not 1175 (though I paid for 1000 units). I then contacted another person who also had done transplant recently. I told him about my story. He also did the same thing and confirmed me that his count was about 1300 whereas he paid for 2000 units. This way Dr. Khanna and his associates are cheating 2 to 3 customers everyday and also carrying out the operations with unskilled and unqualified personnel. I am very much upset due to the reason that after paying necessary fees and sustaining pre and post operative pain / discomfort and tensions I did not get my fair share of my right (i.e. 1000 units of grafting) as one cannot do this operation again and again due to heavy cost involved and painful operation.

Further, Dr. Khanna is cheating government by evading huge amont of income tax. Every day he gets around 2 / 3 customers, someone goes for 1000 grafts and some for 2000 grafts which means 70,000/- and 140,000/- and he gives receipts for 20,000/- or 30,000/- and that too takes 2000/- or 3000/- extra unreceipted cash as tax.

In view of above, it is my earnest request to you to kindly look into the matter and take appropriate actions so that the general public and the government do not get cheated any more in future.
