[Resolved]  Delhi traffic Police complaint — 1100 Rs challan for red light which was not violated

Dear Gentleman,

Red light jumping fine Rs.100/- (section 119/177 MVA) and dangerous driving fine Rs.1000/- (section 184 (1)), so traffic policemen include both offence and ask for Rs.1100/- fine, which is wrong only for fill his pocket, if fine only red light jump than maximum person will fill fine Rs.100/- no befit to traffic police man, so than he take benefit of dangerous driving offence section generally.

When you check Mr Bhupesh fine slip mentioned both offence red light jumping and dangerous driving (in last line), in this case court will blame you for both offence.

Please plan your case accordingly.

I am totally agree with, the traffic police are totally bad, they just harrassed the public, if some one have full documents, then they take charges of broken red light with no proof with a sub constable fake witness.

The same thing happened just to me .


I don, nt know is there any one who can listen all these grievances of public??

I totally agree to you. . .

Indian General Police and Traffic Policemen are bloody criminals. . . they slaughter innocent people, they use their authorities and powers for all unfair means and are not here to help us but to make us a victim of their tyranny. . .

We the people in India are educated but we a'int literate cause if we had been we would have done something or the other. We have a right to speech, freedom, expression n others but still we need money power or a political support to enable it. . . i ask a question, why???

This is just the beginning . . . Now the youth will raise a voice against you uniformed criminals!

This will Mark the beginning of a new revolution i.e. throwing all the corrupts in bars and bringing a new light of relief from the danger-ed General Police and Traffic Policemen

12th january 2011 ko mai toda pur road se hota hua inderpuri ki side ja rha tha n road full khali padi thi m always driving my bike 55 to 60kmph us din road pr koi nhi tha wo road kafi lambi hai n strait bhi hai to us din maine socha thodi speed increase kr leta hun to m diving 80kmph speed bs 2 mins k liye n maine dekha k kafi dur bhat bheed thi toh maine bike thodi slow kr li n dekha to 20 to 25 traffic police man khade the n jaise he mai unke pas pahucha to unhone mujhe roka n kaha show me ur all papers n mere pass sare papers the n fir unhone kaha ki tumhari bike 82 ki speed se chal rahi thi chalan katega 1400 ka & fir maine unse kaha ki sir bikes ki speed ka to koi chaklan nhi hota manta hun ki hume 60 se upar nhi chalni hoti ps us road pr koi speed ka board nhi tha mai manta hun ki meri galti thi mujhe speed increase nhi krni chahiye thi bhale he road khali ho pr mera challan over speed ka hona chahiye tha 400 rupees ka lekin unhone dangerous driving ka chalan kata hai 1000 rs ka mujhe nahi pata tha over speed ka chalan 400 ka hai nahi toh mai chalan pr kabhi sign nhi krta n 10th feb 2011 ko mujhe dwarka court me bulaya hai fine pay krne k liye n license jama hai

I am agree with your point because i know how these traffic police on red lights behaves with the public. These constable are very much aware that nobody can do anything against them that's why they unneccessary they trouble law abiding citizens.

These police men are like camels with comes under the hill. This means if you have power in politics or you have your contact in police (High Rank Officers) than only they will leave you.

I had face the same thing 2 yrs back when i was coming from Brar Square side and took left turn for Dhaula Kuan. They caught me and said that i jumped the red light ( coming from Naraina Side) and took 100 rupees from me.

There should be a cell where a normal citizen can complaint these kind of incident and these police personell must be penalized.

This case is not only happened in traffic police but also in train ticket also.
Once I was going in delhi to meerut by ordinary ticket worth rs 38/- in ac bogie and then my confirm seat was from meerut to Punjab in ac boogie.

TT came and he took 100 Rs/- as a bribe from me without any reciept as i was travelling in ac boogie.
according to me he should have taken difference of ac and ordinary ticket and challan should be there with reciept but instead of challan he took 100 Rs. silently.

so we should raise the voice against that type of govt servents.

Dear all, it is very sad to hear that people are facing such problems even in today's time. Its high time people start raising their voices. One thing I would like to point out to everyone who has suffered the same problem with Delhi traffic police is that "U CANNOT APPROACH THE COURTS WITH DIRTY HANDS "... This simply means that if you have actually violated the law then the courts cannot help you .Secondly if you are bribing any official, then you have made a mistake on your part .Giving and taking of bribe both are an offence. Never indulge in giving bribe to these traffic police men if you want to take the matter to the courts. If anyone is faced with such a problem whereby the police official is harassing you and challenging you unnecessarily there is a solution to it. What you can do is tell them that you are not carrying the driving licence or the registration papers with you, most of the cases they will let you go after some time.Another option is that if they are making a challan against you then let them do it and tell them to make a court challan as you have your brother who is a advocate in the court .And laugh while saying this, tell them there is no issue you can make a challan and also take the receipt of the court challan. Also here most of the time they will let you go. If your matter goes to the court then you can plead innocent regarding the offence and tell the judge that you were harassed by the police officials. Taking the advocates help you can be able to teach the police men a lesson .there is no need to worry from the traffic police, they just have the power to challan and impound the vehicles or documents. They cannot do anything else. Rather be upfront to them, don’t get scared and oppose them and tell them on the face that you will complaint against him in the courts. I hope this general advice will help all of you.

My Name is Rakesh. I was returing to my home yesterday 5 June 2014.Time was 4:25 PM. At shashtri park red light I crossed at yellow light by mistake. I could not break my bike. There were two traffic police people stopped me.They began to cut my challaarn.I told them and requested also that when I was middle of red light yellow green light had passed. It was not my fault. But they told me you have to pay challaan of Rs 1100. I told that I am aware of rule and fees. I can bear only for Rs. 100.

Suddenly, one people came to us and told one person has crossed the red light recently and will you not catch him? Police people told we did not see them. You noticed number!!!.

It was a funny joke me and as well for that person who awared them. After this incident they asked me how much you will pay now? I surprised and asked him please tell me. They told me you give us Rs. 200 only and can go from here.

Agree. The traffic police cops stand in the shades of tress or shelters. They don't control the traffic. Instead they come out with camera or challan book as if they are waiting for some one to commit the mistake. On some red lights, the light becomes direct from red to green and green to red without orange light and confused people have to stop their vehicle after zebra crossing and the cops in shades immediately come out to Grab instead of directing the traffic. Where there is work of Metro is on, their employees are performing much better. The have small boards in their hands which apart Red Lights, stop and let the people go according to red light.

Yes same incident also done with me like Rakesh Kumar 1 year ago, when I was go to Shahadara from Old Delhi, reach flyover was returning due to some reason and take u turn on red light in mid of flyover near Shastri park Genpact building, on red light when both line stop Shahadra and Old Delhi I take u turn to Old Delhi way a police man stop me after my u turn and ask for Car RC and license and said no u-turn on red light on right hand side, You jump red light need pay fine Rs.1100/- I ask that sir red light jump fine Rs.100/- why you asking for Rs.1100/-, they said you know red light jump fine, Yes I reply, then read another fine chgs dengrours driving fine Rs.1000/- I said, but I did not drive car dangerously or fast take u turn only easily, Policeman said "Jayada kanon mat sikha challan katdunga fine lagadunga padte rehna kanun kon kon se lagaye hai, phir license or RC lena court se lagana chakkar, fnally i paid Rs.200/- instead Rs.100 actual fine chags and go.

Had a run in with the traffic police taking challan on the mehrauli badarpur road.
Speed Limit of 50! for cars. How is it possible that cars inside city route would you cut challan for speeding on 68 on a open road.
My car was hit and run at midnight with a driver driving at above 90. There is no camera to record the offence and i was left to bear the charges of my damaged car with no proof or police to sort the crime.
I paid 400 rupees to the govt today. Will the govt repay me back the 4000 rupees i paid to repair my car?
Isnt the police dpt responsible now for letting a drunk man escape.
And when i told them I didnt want to pay cash, they told me that both the RC and DL has to be retained.
both?? Am i now suppose to drive without a licence? WOW makes so much sense.

Thank you Delhi Police for making us proud citizens. So much for us trying to be genuine.

mera ek challan hai red light jump karne ka jo traffic police hai unko dikhata hu aur unse kehta hu ki sir mera yeh challan bhar do unke paas jo machine hai whoh humesha yeh kehte hai ki yaha network nahi aata hai kahi aur jama karo yeh mein challan kam se kam 50 traffic police walon ko dikha chuka hu but koi jama nahi karta .

Agree with all of you Delhi Traffic Police full of goons. SI Bhag Singh and Const. Praveen Kumar stopped me at KG Marg today for cutting a red light in fact when it was yellow. When I argued They asked for papers I had photocopies. Which they said was not acceptable. They charged me 3200 for cutting red light, no PUC, dangerous driving, no registration papers. On arguing threatened to put me in Jail. Also took my license. Totally zero respect for people like them.

Driving on a yellow light is totally subjective which no one can prove and like all things in India leads to corruption as the person in power this case the policeman will always be right.
