[Resolved]  District Transport office — Renew of Driving Licence

Recently I went to the District Transport Office, Williamnagar, East Garo Hills District, Meghalaya to renew my Driving Licence which expired on 22nd July, 2009. The person who handles the cash asked me to give Rs. 260/-, saying they charges Rs. 100/- extra for lamination, and they can't give receipt for that, and so he gave me receipt for only Rs. 160/- (which is the actual). Also a friend of mine, who works in the Statistical Office, Williamnagar have face the same problem, he went to change the name of the registration of vehicle, from others to his name, they charged him Rs. 200, while they gave receipt ogf only Rs. 60/- which is actual. Also they charges huge amount for registration of vehicle. There's a gross anomalies in charging of fees in the Transport Department which has to be scanned. I am planning to go to a Transport Department with a spy cam next time and file a formal complaint against them, though I'm a Govt. employee too.
