[Resolved]  DXN India — CONSUMER COMPLAINT

read below facts and please comment.

Dr. D. Athisayaraj, Head of Siddha/Ayurvedic Department, Aringnar Anna Govt. Hospital of Indian Medicine, who had originally recommended classification of RG & GL capsules as APMs, later on, confessed that the recommendation made by him was not correct as it was based on bogus clinical trial reports. He was cross-examined before the adjudicating authority. It appears from his depositions (in cross-examination) that he did not consider 'Ganoderma' and 'Shiitake' as ayurvedic medicines. Further, from a letter written by the Director of Drugs Control, Tamil Nadu, in reply to certain queries made by DGCEI, it appears that the opinion offered by the Head of the Department of Ayurveda regarding the nature of RG & GL capsules was communicated to the investigating agency. This opinion reads as under:

These items (Chatraka & Buchatra) are basically food supplements may be used to give therapeutic value with some other drug to be given for identified diseases and that these items cannot be used independently to cure any disease

It is clear from the above opinion that "Chatraka" & "Buchatra", which were claimed by M/s. DXN to be present in the subject products, do not have therapeutic value of their own. A test report on samples of RG & GL capsules, issued by the National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) Lucknow stated that, according to Bhavaprakasa Nigantoo, "Chatrakh" and "Bhuchatrak" were used as synonyms and attributed to Agaricus campestris Linn. (Family Agaricacea) and do not fall under the category of APM. This report of NBRI contradicts DXN's claim that "Chatraka" & "Buchatra" have medicinal properties. The NBRI report further indicated that certain samples of RG capsules, contained 100% 'Ganoderma' and no other ingredients, as against DXN's claim that the product was a mixture of 'Ganoderma' and 'Shiitake'. Yet another observation made in the report is that the botanical name of 'Shiitake' is Lentinula Edodes. But no sample of the DXN's products was found to match with authentic (standard) sample of Lentinula Edodes, which indicated the absence of Shiitake in the sample tested. The NBRI report goes a long way to disprove DXN's claim regarding the composition and properties of the subject products. It also shows that, by declaring Ganoderma and Shiitake (botanically known as Ganoderma Lucidum and Lentinula Edodes respectively) as Chatrakh and Bhuchatra (both botanically known as Agaricus campestris) before the Drug Control/Central Excise authorities, M/s. DXN were misdeclaring the ingredients of RG and GL. Insofar as identification of mushrooms in terms of botanical names is concerned, NBRI's authority is indubitable. We also note that the appellants have not questioned the authenticity of the NBRI report. The voluminous literature (on mushrooms) produced by DXN is no rebuttal of NBRI's findings, nor does it establish that the ingredients of RG and GL find mention in authoritative ayurvedic texts. The DXN capsules do not pass the second test.

8.6 It is on record that the drug licence was issued to M/s. DXN by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) Pondicherry as recommended by an ayurvedic expert, Dr. D. Athisayaraj. The Asst. Commissioner, FDA, Pondicherry has admitted this fact in his statement. The expert's opinion was, in turn, based on two clinical trial reports. One of these reports stood in the name of Dr. P. Selvakumar, AMO, Nagipattinam, who later on informed that he had not given any clinical trial report to any person or authority and that the signature and seal shown as his in the document were actually not his and were forged. He also stated that, being a probationer, he was not competent to issue such report. The second clinical trial report was in the name of Dr. S.S. Raviselvan, AMO, Aringnar Anna Govt. Hospital, Chennai. Though Dr. Raviselvan admitted having issued the report, he stated that the report was issued at the request of Daehsan personnel without conducting any clinical test. We note that neither of these doctors was sought to be cross-examined in this case. M/s. DXN have not chosen to salvage the above clinical trial reports from the prospect of decrial. We further note that Dr. Athisayaraj, having come to know the faulty nature of the clinical reports produced by M/s. DXN, confessed that he had wrongly recommended issuance of drug licence to them for manufacture of RG & GL capsules as APMs. Further, he wrote to the Drug Control Authority to cancel the licence. It is also noticed that the above licence was issued to DXN without verification of RG & GL formula with the prescribed ayurvedic texts. The licence was granted by FDA, Pondicherry, merely following the precedent of the Drug Control Authority, Tamil Nadu, having issued a similar licence to M/s. Daehsan. The Asst. Commissioner, FDA, Pondicherry has admitted these facts in his statement. Significantly, he also was not sought to be cross-examined before the adjudicating authority. It is also noticed that the drug control authorities are taking action against the licensees under the Drugs & Cosmetics Act in the aforesaid circumstances. We are of the view that, in the above facts and circumstances, M/s. DXN are not entitled to ask for classification of their products as APMs on the strength of their drug licence, which was obtained in a fraudulent manner.

dxn medicines are fake, they are running like mlm scam.and always mlm companies make fool to loyal customers and distributors.in dxn meeting always claiming their products as a miracle / wonder, and treat incurable deseases like cancer, diabetes, aids etc.
i am posted as a agri. scientist in reputed solan mushroom research centre, and their already we developed red ganoderma cheap cultivation method.i never understand why dxn india company charges so lot for their cheap products example rg and gl price apx rs 1900 for just 180 capsule.
here i read many complaints against dxn, this is eyeopening facts. without legal certification they are running their business in india.dont have any drug certificate, organic certification.
thrue this forum i request to legal authority take immediate and strict action against this company.because more than 95% users are just cronic patient, and their unqualified members working in field like " jhola chap doctor's ".most of them are working in the various parts of the country particularly in the village areas and they are playing with the lives of the people.
govt and court already issue many guidelines to bann this jhola chap doctors.

Orders by Hon'ble High Court Allahabd :

The Court is monitoring the matter for apprehending and prosecuting quacks in terms of the directions issued by Supreme Court in D.K. Joshi vs. State o[censored].P. and others (2000) 5 SCC 80 as follows:-
"6. The Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, State o[censored].P. shall take such steps as may be necessary to stop carrying on medical profession in the State o[censored].P. by persons who are unqualified/unregistered and in addition shall take following steps:

(i) All District Magistrates and the Chief Medical Officers of the State shall be directed to identify, within a time-limit to be fixed by the Secretary, all unqualified/unregistered medical practitioners and to initiate legal actions against these persons immediately;

(ii) Direct all the District Magistrates and the Chief medical Officers to monitor all legal proceedings initiated against such persons;

(iii) The Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department shall give due publicity to the names of such unqualified/unregistered medical practitioners so that people do not approach such persons for medical treatment;

(iv) The Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department shall monitor the actions taken by all District Magistrates and all Chief Medical Officers of the State and issue necessary directions from time to time to these officers so that such unauthorized persons cannot pursue their medical profession in the state.

Before you cleanse the toxins out of your body, you must first balance the pH in the blood before detoxification process can be done. Regarding the heavy metals in RG/GL. It is just a rumor. DXN has penetrated 152 countries worldwide and there are 152 health ministries have done the checking, especially in Australia and European Union. They are not easy to get through due to their stringent rules and regulations on health food products safety measures. I myself is a Malaysian and a lover of DXN. I don't hear anything about Malaysian government banning DXN.

RG and GL are not meant to treat disease. Most doctors have the misconception about ganoderma nowadays. I am an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in practice for over 15 years in bangalore. Have served as Head of the Department and Professor of the specialized discipline of Facial recosntructive and Oral surgery for over 7 years now.
I have myself been a regular user of Reishi Gano (RG) and Ganoderma Lucidum (GL) for its benefits as an antioxidant par-excellence. I am not suffering from any disorder or disease that would require any specific medication, however, the immune-mechanism boost that the RG-GL together provide is something that is well researched, well documented and sufficiently proven.

As a practitioner of Surgical (Allopathic) medicine, I was very reluctant to try it out on myself, and my wife (who is a practitioner of Dentistry). I, along with my family members are consuming DXN RG-GL, Spirulina since last 10 years but not noticed such reflections.But I know it happens to very few(1 in 1000) consumers.

Certainly your friend has not guided you or not told u about doses or precautions you shd take!.What u had noticed was the reflection, which may occur during scanning or detoxification process(between 3rd day to 30 days).Generally during consumption more water intake is suggested(about 14-16 glass per day).

mmmh, seeing all the above comments... i wonder what might happen to a person who consumes it, a few say, "it gives a immune-mechanism boost" then why in this world they cant cure AIDS ???
i do have a mixed feeling, i agree to the bad comments of RG & GL given by the PATIENTS plus i agree to the good comments given by the distributors, people who consume it for many years who are successfull with the product because the product itself is kind of food that acts as a medicine so its clear that if you take this food regularly we can avoid health problem(s) but in the first case, i.e., a patient taking this food, its like making it worse because of its formula (find, detoxify, cure). To make it simple, i would say this RG & GL matches with a proverb, "Prevention is better than cure".
