[Resolved]  Electricity Bills — Inflated bills

This is regarding the excessive electricity bill that we have been getting from April 2012. Till March 2012 our monthly electricity bill used to an average of 400/- a month but since the electricity dept has changed the meter the bill is coming to 850/- per month which is more then double of what we used to get. When we checked with the JE from the dept he asked me to check if there is any wiring problem in my house which we got it checked with an electrician and there was no problem.



If there is no wiring problem then there should be a problem with the meter but the dept is not doing anything about this. How can the monthly bill just go more then double only by changing the electricity meter? It becomes really difficult for us if this continues. Can something be actually done about this as in the same building own ground floor neighbors get a bill of 250/- monthly while we get 850/- how is that possible?

I informed this to my owner. He went to the BESCOM office and the JE informed him that the previous meter was faulty not the new one. Thats why we changed it. The bill you are getting now is correct. We will average the charges for all the previous months and you will have to pay the extra amount.

Not only this BESCOM has charged some penalty also in the previous billing cycle.
