[Resolved]  Godrej-Refrigerator — Withdrawl of customer care

Dear Madam/Sir,
I purchased a Godrej refrigerator (Pentacool Frost Free Series, Model GF 42 S FEL, Appliance No. RF02132, Colour SS Grey) on 09-07-04. Your Company must be well aware of the fact that this model had serious problems and Godrej discontinued the manufacturing of this series/model after sometime. When I demanded replacement of the fridge, it was promised that Godrej will not ditch the valued customers and provide all help and assistance to rectify the problems and complaints. In the meantime I had paid for 1-4 year AMC of the Godrej (Service Order NO. 284843, AMC period[protected] to[protected]. I must admit that Godrej customer care service kept my fridge running (despite delays and heart-burning). The Company made alterations in the above said fridge whenever it broke-down. I felt relieved that Godrej was fulfilling its duty to support its customer for a faulty product.It is also true that without Godrej care and intervention, my fridge, a bad product of Godrej would have turned into junk.
My AMC is to expire on[protected] and when I contacted Godrej customer care & AMC division, to my shock, I was told that Godrej would no more take the responsibility of this model and AMC would not be entertained. This is going to be second blow to Godrej customers and surely death of Godrej fridge for which I paid Rupees 20 thousand.
I strongly feel that the withdrawl of support mechanism for this faulty product of the Godrej Company is not only illegal but also amounts to unethical business practice. Loyal Godrej customers are being penalized for none of their faults. I hopw you would change this attitude so that prestige of Godrej is not damaged.
