[Resolved]  Godrej/Air Conditioner — Defective Product - recurring issue of A/C not cooling and the necessity of gas being filled every few months

Background - We had bought the given model of Godrej Air conditioner (Godrej Airconditioner - Split (S1.5 God Grill - Godrej Split AC 1.5 Ton 19G1.)- Split 1.5 tonne from Kohinoor Tele Video - Dadar on 25 Oct 2008 vide Tax invoice no. 115164. This was installed in our living room in our new flat at 501 Sea Flama, Dosti Flamingos, Parel Sewri, Mumbai 400015. However we shifted into the house only in June 2009. Thus the A/C was not used at all for 8 months. When we operated the A/C, we found that there was no cooling. A complaint was filed and the problem was fixed by filling gas. evidencing the same is attached herewith. Now, with the commencement of summer, we started operating the A/C and once again we found that the same problem of the A/C not cooling. We raised a complaint again and a technician, Abbas, attended to ascertain the problem. He again detected the problem , the solution being filling of gas with a quotation of Rs 2700 Approx. The technician suspects that the installation might not be in order. Since the A/C is no longer on warranty, a visiting charge of Rs 450 was paid in this connection (details of the visit is attached herewith). Today a person called Ashraq called up to say that the equiment might need to be taken and the total cost of repair would be over Rs 6000.

Pl. note the following points in this connection.

1) The A/C is sparsely used since it is installed in the living room
2) The A/C unit supplied did not contain warranty card, remote, 12' copper pipe kit and 15' wire, all of which were supplied later after repeated follow-ups and escalation to yourself. In fact the instruction manual and warranty card that is supplied is a photocopy and not original.
3) There is a recurrence of the same issue, the first time after 8 months and the second time after 9 months. This would lead us to believe that either the machine is faulty or the installation is not correct. In fact considering that the A/C unit did not contain many of the components as mentioned in 2) above, it appears that the machine might have been tampered with and hence faulty.

Would appreciate your immediate assistance in this matter to get the A/C repaired/replaced.

I PURCHASE ONE SPLIT AC FROM GODREJ SHOW ROOM FROM SECTOR 17 CHANDIGARH AFTER INSTALATION OF AC IT IS NOT WORKING COOLING IS ZERO MANY TIMES I LODGE MY COMPLAINT IN GODREJ SHOWROOM BUT THERE RESPONSE IS NILL I AM VERY UPSET.PLEASE GIVE ME SOLUTION AS ERLY AS POSSIBLE AFTER SUMMER SESSION THERE IS NO NEED OF AC.please change my product..

Godrej - Air Conditioner — No cooling from A/C

I have been using Godrej A/C from last one year and in this one year I had support 5 times through customer support. There is a problem with the Gas of the A/C. It leaks after every 1 or 2 months and the company charges me for the same everytime.

Please let me know if there is any scope of justice?

Godrej - Air Conditioner — No Service - Even After paying entire amount

1. I have signed a 4 yrs contact for which entire amount has been paid.
The person from the canvesing department has taken the money for which airconditioner department is not responsible.

The person Mr.Sagar Nikam - Vikroli br has said that you can call for servicing you air conditioner any time you required and will replace any part and also promised to provide the clamp for the outdoor unit,which turned to be false.

I have given a compalin on 2nd October'10 ( complain no 647122 ) and taken an appointment for saturday ie 9th October'10 but they still have not provied the serive. Even after giving ten complain to there call centre , 30 calls to the authorised service provider Mr.Sanjay Deapankar ( Sansu refrigeration & air conditioning service , D/5,Tapasya Chs , plot no 27 , Veer savar kar nagar, thane -west 400 606 . Tel 25823835 / [protected] / [protected] ) non of the officer from godrej have contacted me. I belive the company is cheating the customer in the name of 4yrs service contact.

I thing there are no authorised person in godrej the person i have sopken is all from the contact staff - Anita / Vijay who are not in a position to solve customer problem nor they know who the head of the department.
The staff at the call centre and back office are very rude and unpolite.

Godrej is the first orgainsation which is whole run by contact staff , no email id , no heads of the department.This guys are cheating customer in the name of service/product and making customer run one dept to another.

I have purchased the air conditioner from vijay sales and the person who visted my place befor purchasing told me the installation is free of charge, however to my surprise the person from the authroised service provider took the money Rs.1500/- from me???????????

Is there any responsible person in Godrej who can solve my problem????????
