[Resolved]  health insurance — harassment by settlement division - SBI

With due regards I would like to look into this matter: My SBI card No. is[protected]

In the month of February 2006, I took a SBI Credit Card being constantly persisted by a SBI Card agent who does even know to explain the usage of credit card begged me to avail one so that he will get commission as he belong to small income group. He also suggested that the card can be kept till confirmation is done from the respective staff of the SBI office over phone. No sooner I got the card I got a call from SBI card division that Insurance premium will follow from “Royal Sundaram Insurance” I listened the whole plan on the phone, the caller asked my family details, I asked him to come over to discuss the plan, instead a week after a received a whole kit of health insurance. As I was not convinced by the policy I ignored it.

I was again taken back, when I saw my Credit Card statement, which reflected dues for heavy amount above seven thousand indicating the various admin charges and the premium of the insurance company. The insurance Company without having my any written consent how can insure me against my will; they are not having any of my photographs or written consent.

I complained this to SBI department, none of them gave a convincing reply. Now today (16.08.2009) a caller named Mr. Akash from SBI credit settlement division told me that “Royal Sundaram” might have misguided and implicated me to achieve the target. when I inquired I heard from Royal Sundaram; that SBI people had asked them to insure me.

I had not made any single purchase throughout, I e-mailed about my unwillingness to join the insurance scheme but no response from their end thereafter I received a legal notice from Mr. Rajiv Agarwal, a soft spoken advocate advised me to opt out of court settlement for Rs.2000/- and as per his advise I went ahead. I paid 2 instalments of Rs.666/- each before the 3rd instalment I had to rush out of Delhi to attend my father’s health. After I came back. A lady staff just blasted me for not paying my dues. I was taken aback. Does one think that I will cheat for not paying the 3rd due after paying the first two. This hurt me a lot since then I did not pay the due. Now am getting threatening calls from SBI to settle the amount, not only this, These SBI people have hired “Private Gundas” (from the accent one could conclude) who call at odd times and ask for settlement of money. If any physical harassment is done either to me or my family for no fault of mine, SBI will be held responsible.

Therefore it is a due request you to please look into this matter and do something needful at the earliest,

Thanking You,
Yours Faithfully,

G.Gokkulakrishnan
