PREVIOUS DEMAT ACCOUNT CLOSED SEVERAL YEAR AGO, NOW HARASSING TO LINK MY NEW DEMAT ACCOUNT TO THE PREVIOUS ACCOUNT AND DEDUCT CHARGES FOR NOT MAINTAINING BALANCE IN THE S/B A/C.

THE PREVIOUS A/C. OPENED WITH THE DEMAT A/C WAS A O BALANCE A/C.

ICICI doesn't have a permission from Govt to Offer PPF accounts,

I've a similar kind of experience by opening a PPF a/c in Pune.Now even if I'm in Mumbai, I can't deposit even ICICI bank cheques for my PPF a/c.Noone seems to be aware of these PPF a/c.I was asked to go to Pune for all transactions.So, please tell me if it's posible to transfer the a/c to some nationalized bank like SBI.

Same here in gurgaon/noida. i opened the a/c in noida in hope of the online facility. it's one of the biggest mistake. now i am in ggn and have to go to noida to deposit money. thinking to transfer it to post office or sbi, and yes its possible.

I have a Account in CP Branch Delhi, Its a Similar Howrrowin experience, Since its not profitable for ICICI they do not care, I guess Complaining to RBI Or soe Banking Ombuds man is a Solution

yes i do facing the same problem i have deposited the amount in ppf from icici bank hoping they will start ppf soon but it never happens now my money stuck with the bank what should i do

Yes, I also face similar issue with my PPF a/c opened with ICICI-Bangalore. I do not get statements any more, and one of the deposit of 10K is not credited, despite repeated follow-up's. I am not sure if the money that I have so far deposited is safe or not!

Yes me too faced the similar situation ...opened the PPF account in Hyderabad in 2008 ...but till now I am running here and there to get the ppf statement. Not sure if my money is safe or not.

ICICI officers are too negative towards PPF and NPS. They openly provide false information and discourage aspirants from joining these schemes. The service levels offered are badly low. A bank like ICICI should be ashamed of this.

guys, I have a PPF account in SBI delhi & I am planing to move to Bombay so i thought that i will move it to ICICI but since last 2 hours i have tried my level best to get in touch with a human being in ICICI to speak to him about it (believe me i am technologically not retarded!) but its just impossible, non of the number provided by customer service work(three of them to be precise) no one else seems to know head or tail about it in the rest of the organization!
thanks to this post I will not even think of considering it anymore, my only temptation was online facility! is there any other bank which anyone can suggest for PPF?

I have my PPF A/C with ICICI, Hyderabad and have same experience(No statements, not online etc.). Now is it possible for me to close this account and Open one in SBI or any other Bank.

What would be the best solution to this Problem.

I have faced the same issue...when I called the nariman point branch at 22810976...for the first minute they keep you on some machine which removes weird noise...and then someone picks up...and keeps the receiver on side...again after 30 secs teh person picks up the reciever maybe to check if we are still on line...and then will keep the receiver on side again..and after 3 minutes...the call will get disconnected from their side...so now if you have any queries regarding your ppf account in icici then whom do we contact??? POLICE???? whom man??

I pity myself that I didnt come across this page before. I too have went through a harrowing experience, which I am narrating in detail. I had a ppf account with bank of baroda and due to this online facility temptation, decided to get it transferred to ICICI BANK (Nariman Point Branch, Mumbai).visit this link for ICICI ppf a/c (http://www.thehindubusinessline.in/2005/07/02/stories/[protected].htm ) I enquired with the ICICI bank branch and found that ppf a/c transfer can be done and online facility will be available. This was my biggest mistake. The Bank of Baroda person extended his full co-operation and completed the transfer process, the same day(04/11/2011). I went to ICICI bank a week later, but i was told it takes minimum of 25-30 days for ppf a/c transfer to happen.So, I decided to wait and visited the branch again after 25 days. The concerned officer was very polite and in front of me, typed an email to his colleagues concerned with ppf a/c opening, regarding my account status. The next day, I was informed that my documents had not reached ICICI BANK from BOB. I was upset and enquired with BOB, where the stafff told me that they had sent the documents by courier ( on 04/11/2011) which was delivered to ICICI bank the very next day (05/11/2011). When I took up this issue with the ICICI bank strongly, they went through their inward register and confirmed that my documents had been received and it was with one confused fellow, who didn't know what to do with it. Imagine, they simply sat on my documents for about 1 month.I was assured that my PPF a/c will be opened shortly. Next week passed and nothing happened, I complained to the customer care and then I was informed that since I had not filled certain forms, my a/c could not be opened.(They never bothered to inform me in the first place about these things, despite me being asking about fresh requirements).I filled all the forms, gave documents required and a cheque of 1000/-. But till now my transfer amount from BOB(around 21000/-) has not been credited. I have been informed of my ppf a/c no on phone but not written documentation exists. Now, the real fun ( as explained by some persons above), is that I cannot operate PPF online and have to visit the branch everytime, though there was a column on ICICI ppf a/c form, mentioning RETAIL INFINITY ID( for online ppf transactions).
This has really frustrated me now and I am going to take up this issue to the higher authorities. If any body is having problems with icici ppf a/c nariman point mumbai, branch, I invite you to join me( my mail id is [protected]@yahoo.co.in ) so that we can take up the issue together ( better servicing of PPF and online facility for PPF).

Thanks for your inputs. I was planning to go for the ICICI PPF, but now I realize that SBI is the best. At least they don't lie and exist from generations.
