my wife recently had problems in getting her visa for a trip to India . I was amazed to hear how badly she was treated by the staff, the lack of knowledge and personality is a major problem for alot of the chaps who work there.

A great deal of improvement is required in this establishment.

I would like to say that as a world wide traveller, the Indian High Commission office dealing with passport and consulate matters is the worst I have experienced in my life. The prejudice and rudeness of paid staff there beggers beleif. Why does the High Commission continue to employ such people? Why has the High Commission not set good standards of conduct of their staff with the public. It is appauling and the High Commissioner in London, Mr Nalin Surie, is continuing to allow such behaviour. He must be personally held responsible for such inadequecies of his office. Shame on you for representing India in such an appauling way in the west and treating its people as you do! My suggestion to anyone reading this email is to email your complaints on as many websites as possible to raise awareness and generate defiance to such treatment. I will join anyone who ever organises a protest or a demonstartion outside the Indian Embassy to give the High Commissioner and his staff a kick up the backside and to alert them they cannot go on treating people so badly! Can we all gather our voices and our energies to do something about this?
the staff at the indian high commision at london are the most impolite, rude and arrogant that i have ever met !!
further more the queues are horrendous and to add insult to injury, the fees they charge are absolutely extortionate !!
they entertain no excuse, no matter how genuine and can at a whim shut a counter and send everybody that is paying by cash etc home and tell them to come back the next day !!!
the website is vague with no accurate reference to what p/copies and numbers required .
it would appear that the staff mission is to procure as much money as possible from its fed-up and distressed citizens abroad .
it is claimed that the outfit at aldwych london make over £1000000 pounds !!! -who says that crime doesnt pay !!
his excellency doesnt care and its high time there was a petition in protest at the charges and time wasting by the employees of a greedy and corrupt govt .
does any one else have a nightmare experience at this seedy and corrupt institution .

as they say, its a little piece of india in london -the worst part !!!

the arguments, fights and swearing are legendary not to mention they very old and very young that suffer in silence and pay hand over fist !!!

ashamed to be indian !!
i have received a e-mail from the British National Lottery saying that i won 1, 000, 000 million pounds and they have succeded in taking about Rs 6, 00, 000 from me and now there is no response from them.

I know that i shouldnt have believed them at the first place but it was so full proof that it made me to believe.

Please see that the Government take some necessary action on them. I know that our government wont want to spoil our relationship with UK but must see that they take some steps to prevent these kind of frauds in future..

ll my documents I am still awaiting for my pio card.I applied on 7 oct 2010 and have not heard from them.
I went to the Indian Embassy for a re-entry visa within 60 days of last visit because my mother died and I needed to be there to conduct the funeral ceremony. I had booked my flight presuming this would not be a major problem. Yet, I was kept waiting in the embassy for nearly 8 hours without any clear answer whether I would get a visa or not. Despite my desperate pleas, crying and begging to be allowed to light the funeral pyre of my mother, and impressing upon them the significance of these, considering there were many Hindus there, I got rebuttals like ' dont go on ranting 'mother, mother mother...', 'people go to india to create trouble and you may be the one'. They charge only £7.00 so it is not likely that intensive investigations for eight hours would be undertaken to allow entry on an already existing visa. I just about managed to check in 5 minutes after the close of check in time. I spoke to an englishman who worked in the embassy and he thought this was unusual and this would never happen in a British Embassy. He did not understand their system.. I feel this is the lowest of the lowest in terms of human interaction. I could apply for CIO but I now hate to be associated with this country in any way.
Dr Chaurasia
I myself being born in India have had three times had all my documents returned, I have had to pay three times special delivery, each time not telling me what is exactely required when questioned what further proof I needed for indian origian. What theifs! I know the government is corrupt in India I did not expect this sort of this here. Sent further letter asking again, what I need exactely by recorded delivery so they cannot deny not receiving it. To date, no reply. They cannot be allowed to get a way with this! People who work there have probably never set foot in a univercity yet they are undermining intelligent people who have. I have had indian visas (5 year ones for the last 20 years) yet when I want a PIO card they are wasting my money by not say what is required, surely it's not that difficult to name a document that is needed?
