Hi,
I donated blood in the blood bank of Jawaharlal Nehru Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Bhopal on Thursday 06/08/2009. After the blood was taken, I had severe pain in my hand and within 2-3 hours I had a big black scar on my forehand which is still visible on my hand.
I consulted a doctor in Mumbai and he told me that the scar is not due to blood clotting but it is due to some internal bleeding caused by improper needle insertion during blood donation and it will remain for a very long time.
I want to file a case against the Jawaharlal Nehru Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Bhopal for physical injury caused and want to claim compensation of atleast Rs60, 000.
Please escalate this matter. Was this information helpful? |
There is no question of formation of any scar at the site of vein puncture because the blood is taken by the 16 gauze needle. It was the responsibility of donor to inform any reaction to the blood bank immediately. As per our record Mr Vaibhav Bakshi have not made any complaint after blood donation. There is no negligence at our part. We once again like to clarify that there is no chance of formation of any scar at the site of vein puncture due to use of 16 gauze needle.
We hope this would clarified our position
