To Whomsover it may concern, This is the blank truth about this kalyana mandapam and we have faced this issue recently. Sharing this information with you people to make sure you are not cheated by these people again. Our marriage date is planned and fixed almost 6 months before and we have found this mandapam near to our place, so we have seen the place and gave advance for one lakh and fifty six thousand (out of which we gave check only for fifty six thousand) and rest in cash. Manager was Ganeshan and he did not provide us with any kind of receipt. This has happened 5 months before the marriage date. Exactly before a month of marriage we got a call from Manager(this time it was Natesan) and has asked us to pay sixty five thousand more, because increase in electricity charges, we said since electricity is paid after the marriage expense you can calculate based on new rate and we do not have any objection. But they asked to come to mandapam, we went and they asked as 'Are you Brahmin???', we asked why they said if you are Brahmin you need to pay 65 thousand else pay 55 thousand. We asked what is is related to caste for this charge, finally they told either you pay us the amount or we will deduct the booking charge (fifty thousand) and pay you the rest. Since we have already printed and distributed the cards we were forced to pay that. During the marriage the ceiling fans in the center of the halls did not work, items in the rooms are not clean (cots and beds) and pooja items were broken. we complained and no response from Manager Ganeshan. After the marriage we took the readings and we have been asked to come next day to calculate the breakage and other charges to be deducted from deposit. We reached next day and the manager showed we have broken plastic chairs (the color of the chair is white and we have used only red color chairs for our wedding) and showed a cot (its steel cot and the room he showed we never used it) is broken and he said he has fixed it with 4 hours so he cannot show us the exact damage and said ever-silver glasses were missing. We have used paper cups and mineral water bottles in our marriage and we said we never used glasses. Total charges came to five thousand only for breakage, we have waited for owner and he did not turn up. We have been trying to reach him for 25 days his phone was switched off and when contacted manager natesan he said to contact owner. Almost after a month we have been asked us to come and collect the balance, beleive it or not they gave back two thousand rupees citing extra charges for everything. Please make sure you keep all these in your notes prior to booking this Mandapam. I request each and every one (either good or bad) to post so that other people might get benefitted. This is to share our experience to all parents who were about to book this mandapam for their sons or daughters, Record all conversations and count all the items prior to taking up anything and make sure you check the mandapam everything and get a letter from the manager before leaving.
