Mumbai Cricket Association — Refund of tickets for 7th ODI Match between India and Australia

The 7th ODI Match between India and Australia was to played at the DY Patil Sports Complex, Nerul on 11th November 2009 under the auspices of Mumbai Cricket Association. The said match was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to unseasonal rains accompanied by a cyclone. The Managing Committee of the Mumbai Cricket Association decided to refund full amount of the ticket due to the unusual circumstances.

But however I was not granted refund as I had a smaller counterfoil of tickets.
The other part of tickets was taken by the gate-keeper at the D.Y. Patil Stadium. The authority at MCA has informed us that they need the bigger counterfoil to show to the auditors.

But the smaller counterfoil was handed over to us by the gate-keeper at the D.Y. Patil Stadium. The proof to be shown to auditor ia an control issue at MCA for which they can't harras general public.

The smaller counterfoil also has all the details as mentioned in the bigger part.

The advertisement on the MCA’s website regarding refund speaks “Refund will be against a valid paid ticket issued by the Association”

The smaller counterfoil is an valid ticket. MCA has got full amount of insurance from the insurance company and now they are trying to make some money by not giving refund to the general public.

Dear Tejashwini!
It’s definitely right on your part to check the details thoroughly before enrollment. No one doubts the standards of curriculum content. If you are committed to your goal, the issues being talked about need to no attention.
where is the ticket refund mr.vengsarkar.talking is nothing, doing is phatting...
we need to know when r u returning our money???????
refund refund refund????
MCA is adamant in there decision to not give the refund to public who put their money and effort .Same type of incident happened to me also last week I was out of station and missed to collect the refund now when I called up MCA they are just refusing to answer or respond .It’s a shame on country Indians if they want to collect a donation type I am free to contribute there are better means for funds…..
I am also denied the refund as I don’t have the bigger counter foil. My ticket nos are 118393 & 118394. We have entered through gate no.3 and who ever entered through gate no.3 they were given the smaller part of the ticket. On questioning, the men on the gate replied that they were instructed to return the smaller portion only.
I think M/s; Dilip Vengsarkar /Lal Chand Rajput and gang were envisaging that they have to refund the ticket if a single ball is not played. They are very clever and accordingly they instructed there gate keeping agency to retain the bigger portion of the ticket.
I hereby place my request to the appropriate authority to investigate the matter (particularly the insurance company) seriously as it is a question of huge amount and ours ticket money is very hard earned money.
