[Resolved]  Paying Guest Owner — Ill treatment by PG Owner

This is a complain against Mr. Viral Shah staying at Ojas Apartment, Nehru Nagar Ahmedabad. The man, along with his wife, runs a Paying Guest for girls. The entire family, that includes the mother of Viral's wife and even his daughters have made it very difficult for us to stay there. We are graduation students. We try to concentrate on our studies but these people ensure that they make our life miserable. When one o[censored]s decided to quit, he refused to pay more than half of the deposit. We pay a monthly amount of Rs 5500. Viral said that he would refund only 2100. When we asked for the reason, he had none. Another friend of ours decided to stay with us for 15 days. When we took permission from Viral he said he would charge Rs 250 per day if the stay is less than 15 days and Rs 2750 if it is for 15 days. Now suddenly he says that the amount will be Rs 250 per day irrespective of the number of days she stays for. He is always troubling us for money despite the fact that we make payments on time. Now that we are going to leave the PG after a month, he troubles us even more. And not only him, its the entire family who does that.

Our room is in the house of Viral's Mother in law. She restricts us from things like drawing curtains even if the scorching heat is entering the room, not bathing after 11:00 am. There is no privacy because she does not let us shut our room door. None of these restriction were mentioned in the form that was signed by us. We come from decent families and the allegations that put are utterly crass. Being young students we are slightly naive and that is something they take advantage of. We have our entrance test in 4 days yet they do not act slightly considerate. They even have gone to the extent of spying our cutlery to see whether we have stolen it or not. It is becoming really difficult for us to deal with these people. That is why we chose this medium hoping for some help. We do not know whether our complaint will be taken care of or even read for that matter. But we shall be really really really grateful to the system if it does something about it.
