Hi.
My name is Ramakrishna. I, with my family boarded a auto rickshaw at pune station on 13th Aug 2012 at 9.20 AM. One auto driver approached and said he would come on meter charge. We boarded the auto and said the destination is near to akurdi station.
Total KM on meter showed 27.9 KM after reaching the destination. Driver calculated the fare and asked to pay 500 Rs. On asking, how it came to 500 Rs, he said that the area comes under remote area and charges are more for that and luggage charges are 50 Rs totalling to 500 Rs.
As per my idea Akurdi does not come under remote area. The driver was very rude and threatened to take away part of my luggage incase I paid any less amount than 500 Rs. I had to pay the amount he demanded, such was his behaviour.
Even if I hire a radio cab, the fare would come around 350 Rs.
Such kind of auto drivers are making people afraid to hire an auto.
Request to kindly action so that the auto wallah do not cheat any more commuters.
