revlon/frost321violet chrome — expired product

this is diya. i bought a revlon lipstick(super lustrous lipstick, frost321 violet chrome) from a fancy store in the city. the mfg dt and batch no given is thus:M.L.No.C-4-M/2001.

I'M AFRAID THE PRODUCT I BOUGHT IS THEN 9YRS.

i checked with the salespeople. they seem to be ignorant of the fact. and worse they tell me that the date on the product is not mfg date.

i checked in some other stores too. they too seem to have the same stock.

i spent rs 325 on the product. its not about the money, but i need to know the truth behind this
