My passport is valid upto April 2011. Yet as is expected of a good citizen I wanted to update the government records and submitted my valid passport along with my wife's, for reissue with the new address.
Whereas my wife's passport was received without much delay, it is more than 7 months and I have not got mine. I visited the Regional Passport Office, Chennai and also posted mails to their grievance cell more than half a dozen times in this period. The latest position is they have misplaced the police verification report, through its receipt has been entered in the computer.
I was scheduled to travel abroad by Dec-08 but till date I am not able to do it.
The officials of RPO, Chennai are insensitive to the problems of the public, which is to say the least.
