[Resolved]  Samrat Travels Chinsurah — False commitments

I Dr. Indranil Banerjee had travelled with M/S Samrat Travels of Phulpukur Chinsurah in the month of October,2010 to Bhutan with my wife and 2 year old kid. It was a horroble trip and would like to explain the whole misery in detail so that the authorities can take the necessary actions. Firstly, we were charged Rs.9000/- per head and Rs.4000/- was charged for my kid for whom they had committed to give special fooding and special care. As you are aware a child of this age does not require even a train ticket in India and we had travelled by train. The whole group of 16 people were packed into two tata sumos for the whole tour. We were supposed to tour Bhutan but were kept at Jaigaon which is the entry point into Bhutan from India for 4 days while the whole tour was of 7 days. We were promised good lodging whereas we were kept in a crouched hotel where maybe lorry drivers will accommodate themselves for a night,infact there were people sleeping in the lobby at night. The distance from Phuntsholing to Thimpu is around 150 kms and we were crouched in two tata sumos. The person who was sent as our Manager did not have a voters ID and as a result he was not allowed to enter into Bhutan. We travelled with a helper and a cook who used to be drunk on most of the occasions.With lots of hardships to reach Thimpu we were greeted with another hotel which was nothing but a bar with 4 rooms on the top floor and a very very ill behaved owner and rooms without water supply etc. The food provided by them was equally bad. Horrifyingly my small kid survived on cornflakes,cake and milk which I had carried with me. He was not provided with any special meals. Hence I would request the Consumers forum to seriously take up this matter and help in compensation of Rs.3000/- each for myself and my wife and Rs. 4000/- for my kid.
