[Resolved]  Seagate Hard Drive — SEAGATE Lousy Warranty/Repair Service

I Had given my hard drive for repair at the seagate authorised service centre at "ASK INFOTECH near AJC Bose Road".
The usb port on my external hard drive broke. I had purchased the drive just 10 months back and the drive should have a warranty for 3 years. when i showed them the drive the guy tells me he could repair the port but that my warranty would be void since the day the drive is repaired since the drive is being opened (generally in other cases when a company authorised person opens the drive this should not happen). He said it would cost me Rs. 1300 and that the repair job wouldn't take more than 1 day. Its been 3 weeks since. Initially the secretaries who know absolutely nothing about drives told me stories like "the part is stuck with courier, yesterday was a holiday etc"

When i had gone to drop off my drive the person at the front desk who knows nothing about drives started poking the USB port with a pen pushing the broken port further back in. Then telling me this is a major damage.

Today i called the repair man and he tells me "if you want you can take the drive back" other wise you have to wait for at least a week more as the part is stuck at the airport courier office. ( rubbish). He also tells me he could fix the part as it is but that it could break again. (god knows whether its the truth)

I never expected a company like seagate to have such shoddy after sales service and to outsource the repair job to such a horrible private IT company.
The guys there dont know how to deal with customers.

Seagate execs if you are reading this you have lost a customer in me. I would look for other alternatives in the future when buying computer products. Please do something about these guys as these guys really give your company a bad name.
