[Resolved]  tatkal passport — tatkal passport not received

THIS IS TO INFORM YOU THAT I ARKA MUKHERJEE, A RESIDENT OF 127/A, VIVEKANANDA SARANI, THAKURPUKUR, KOLKATA-700063, HAD APPLIED FOR MY PASSPORT UNDER THE TATKAL SCHEME ON 31ST OF DECEMBER, 2009, UNDER THE RS. 2500/- SCHEME OF 1-7 DAYS..I WAS ASSURED IN MY MONEY RECEIPT THAT I WOULD RECEIVE MY PASSPORT ON 5TH OF JANUARY, 2010, FROM THE REGIONAL PASSPORT OFFICE, KOLKATA. I HAVEN'T RECIEVED MY PASSPORT TILL TODAY 8TH OF JANUARY 2010, INSPITE OF THE FACT THAT THE ONLINE PASSPORT STAUS ENQUIRY WEBSITE ASSURES THAT MY PASSPORT HAVE BEEN MADE READY ON 5TH OF JANUARY, 2010..I AM IN URGENT NEED OF THE PASSPORT SINCE I WILL BE HAVING MY VISA INTERVIEW IN A COUPLE OF DAYS FOR GOING TO LONDON, WHERE MY UNCLE IS SUFFERING FROM LEUKEMIA, AND I AM URGENTLY REQUIRED TO REPORT. I WOULD EARNESTLY REQUEST YOU TO LOOK INTO THE EMERGENCY OF THIS SITUATION AND KINDLY HELP ME GET MY PASSPORT DELIVERED AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. I AM FEELING EXTREMELY HELPLESS IN A SITUATION LIKE THIS..

Hello Sir,

My Name is R.Sarulatha and my passport no # F6519940 and my passport expiry date is 22/02/2016.

I wanted to apply for a new passport in Tatkal for change in my name to R.Charulathaa.

I have already applied in online and I visited the Coimbatore passport office on 09.08.2010 for applying in Tatkal (name change).

I visited the website and regional passport office (Chennai) and found that we can apply for new passport in tatkal in case of name change, address change, date of birth change and place of birth change.

But in Coimbatore passport office, officers said that name change in passport cannot be applied in tatkal .My question is that Central Govt rules has to be followed in all the passport offices all over India.

Then why in this case people in Chennai can apply and get name changed passport in tatkal and why don’t people like me don’t get.

I am in a very urgency that I wanted my name change passport in 1 month. In this case what are procedures can I do from my side.

Due to this delay my marriage life is getting delayed. Kindly see through this mail and let me know what can be done as earlier as possible.

Kindly give me some guidelines to resolve this issue.

Thegrievance is genuine. Why Tatkal scheme shoule not be followed in the case of change of name? Passort rule is silent on this, but the officials in the passport office at Bhubaneswar do not accept application under Tatkal scheme in case of change on surname.
