I just came down at dadar railway station and got cheated in similar fashion. 1000 rs change - gave 500..showed 100 in a flashh..got looted of 1000 rs. Came later in a prepaid taxi.he was telling this is goin on there in dadar railway station with the knowledge of police, so I guess no use of complaining also... Incredible India...thanks.

im the latest victim and have just been cheated few HRS ago by this sardars @ dadar station.
i need help from you people to track them down and just them there itself.
we need to unite together and catch them red handed.

Same here!!Guys beware of this Prepaid taxiwalas.They take a note of 500 and convert it into a 100 rupee note.In the same way my mom almost lost 2000 rupees.First taxiwala Asks us to give a 1000 rupee change fisrt we gave him 500 2 notes he said its just 600.where he converted a 500 note to 100 note.Again we gave him other 500 note he again converted it into 100.The same blue light which makes us confused, In a hurry we took another taxi as he was rating 800 from dadar to borivali.The another taxiwala dropped us to borivali.He said it takes 500 and then the same note was converted back to 100 rupee note.So guys beware and please take action gainst these maniacs.They are good for nothing.Police plaese catch hold of this gang.Coz its our hard earned money which goes waste on such people.I magine if i wanted to spent that 2000 i was comingg from Pune i would have directly booked an uber.Everyone please be aware and don't get trapped in this.Use your brains as i wouldnt want any innocent Person to get trapped in this, Specially the outstation guys
Same thing happened with me today morning at 5:30 am at Dadar station.
The guy who got me a taxi asked for 1000 rs change and 1500 advance cheated with torn 500 Rs notes and took back the 1000 Rs note. The taxi driver later filled gas for Rs 50 and took Rs 200. Final taxi fare added up to 2200+ Rs from Dadar to Vasai (west). Claiming night charges in early morning, driver took 1.5 times meter reading and I ended up paying 3500 Rs (including tip for being duped).
Two things - 1) Light in taxi was too dim to pull of replacing torn notes.
2) Meter in taxi had a cover so that broken meter could not be caught.
Taxi no was MH01AT7408C12.
I am just hopeful there would be some action to stop this fraud. An issue like this which has been happening for last 7 years not only tars Mumbai's reputation but also slap in the face of legal authorities.

I was scammed into losing 1500/- in the same way!!!
Changing 500/- note to 100/- and 1000/- to 50/- I don't even know how???

on 6th of june we are four company staff went to mumbai from pune and indrayini is latre reached at dadar and we have 30 minutes late reached at dadar railway station and due to we have extra luggage we can't travel with local train to further mumbai central and our next train is duranto exprerss for delhi and we have less time to Reached at Mumbai Central. so we took taxi and so many taxi wala called us and after that we got one taxi and after keeping luggage all this thing taxi driver required change of rs 1000/-, i said i don't have any change but they pressure me for giving two 500 note but i know the reason behind this i gave him two 500 notes and take Rs 1000/- not in my wallet, after giving two 500 note driver give me two note of rs 100, but i understood the thing i immdieate react i am not going to give you any thing, after that driver and other agent are understood this person (my self) knowing the fact so far driver told me i want the change of Rs 500/ after that driver asked me gas is not upto mark in his cab so we immdiate change another vehilce and save our 800 rs for dadar taxi ford union.
so i suggest you please don't taxi at dadar and kurla and avoid to late reported at railway station and save your money from cheaters,

Please This is the BEST I CAN SAY. Never trust anyone at any railway station, airport, and other modes of transport stations. Just queue at the prepaid or any other govt authorised taxis like Ola Meru and travel safely.
Remember that they will see you struggling with your luggage and offer help. SAY A BIG NO NO NO. Once you take their help then you will be courteous and take his cab SO AVOID PLS PLS PLS
Please let me inform you that all the above similar incidences happen at other station also . So my dear country people please be very careful
