Hi,
I am a non resident Indian. During my recent visit to India, I have paid advance to buy plots from VGP Lordu Nagar at Pondicherry for the price of Rs 145/sq ft after mutual agreement with them. Afterwards I have transferred money from UK to India and asked them to proceed with registration but they have informed me that their Managing Director did not agree for that price and Branch Manager mistakenly agreed originally. They expected me to pay Rs 200 per sq.ft instead. I have trusted VGP as being a professional company and that was the main reason to choose their plots to buy amongst several other places that came on the market. Having converted British pounds to Indian Rupees, I find it difficult to transfer the money back to the UK as well as I may loose considerable amount as bank commission and currency conversion charges etc..
Now I feel, entering into property investment in India is a dodgy business and hard to trust even limited companies such as VGP. Was this information helpful? |
Thank you very much for the response. I do certainly feel like suing this company. They have given me a receipt and a letter detailing the agreed price and location of the plot. I haven't made any formal agreement as such. Will it be enough to challenge them legally? If yes, how much it would cost to sue them?
Thank you very much
