Corel.co.in — fake calls and mental harassment

Two days ago I received a call frm a guy named NITHESH ANCHAN who claimed to be from COREL company and he told me that I am using the pirated verison of the COREL software.

I told him politely the fact that I don't have that software to which he forcefully subjected that "our information cannot be correct"

He sent me a mail and this is where I got a but surprised as the email that I had received had the domain corel.co.in

I googled the stuff and I found that there are many such people who had lodged a complaint again several such people who claimed to be working for the Corel audit, this is where I started doing the enquiry

I had a chat with mr.DON frm the original Corel company i.e. corel.com then he gave me the contact and the email id of a person in INDIA who happens to work for the original COREL company

His domain had corel.com in it

Nextday I again received the call frm NITHESHand this time I THRASHED HIM LIKE HELL

He said Sir we didn't any REVERT frm you

I said REVERT GAYA BHAAD ME... TU BATA TH KAUN HAI AUR KAHAKI COMPANY ME BAITHA HUA HAI???

He said " sorry sir I didn't get you " ( lemme tell this was the time when he started stammering and his tone was low )

I said SORRY TERE PASS ME RAKH ... JAB TUJHE MAINE BATAYA MERE PASS SOFTWARE HAI NAHI TOHTH ZABARDASTI CALL KARKE MENTAL HARRASHMENT KAR RAHA HAI

Chal agar tu WAKAI ME COREL keliye kaam kar raha hai you tera BATCH NO. BATA ... AFLA PROCEDURE ME KHUD KARLUNGA

(This time he got scared and he disconnected the call)
So it's my appeal to all the people to kindly ignore such calls but I highly suggest to u to use GENUINE SOFTWARES

I think you are lucky or may be you are smart.

But if you are using pirated software and got saved you are lucky.

I already suffered from compliance once and i know the pain.

By the way I am not part of any Corel organisation and this reply is totally my personal thought.

It is official. These are only phishing calls. After repeated calls to pay money, I have filed a report in the Navi, Mumbai Police HQ Roadpali Rd.

The police have noted my complaint and asked me to initially register the same to TRAI. They have also guided me how to do this. For the reference of others use the below link

Send the below sms to 1909

“The Unsolicited Commercial Communication, XXXXXXXXXX,
dd/mm/yy"

XXXXXXX is the phone number of the incoming caller and dd/mm/yy is the date of the incoming call.

So my complaint was

I have received an SMS stating that the complaint was registered with TRAI. And also that an action will be taken in 7 days.

After a few days i have checked with the local police. The inspector conducted a preliminary investigation and found that these guys represent a private organization and the get information from Just Dial. Then they try their luck in harassing business owners. They said that they will get in touch with the main Corel Coporation to let them know that this is unfair business practice.

I dont think any of the above informations are in full. one will not get a call from a company dealing with piracy like this.. I am in software industry for lat 20 years dealing with softwares. Everyone is trained to what is their role and they speak only they are supposed to and never get scared of anyones abuse like above.

Rest assured, one day or other, they will wait and trash you legally where you wont be able to come out of that battle and end of the day you will have to shell out huge sum to your advocates and to the company of the sofware you pirated.

be careful with these guys since as far i know they are full aware of everyone is doing and they are supported by the organisation called BSA and the government..

If anyone fools you in the name of corals. So complain directly to these emails. And put that email in CC and BCC, from which you get email.

And also filed a fraudulent report in the police in the name of Aditya Infotech Ltd. Write in it that the employees of Aditya Infotech Ltd want to extort from us in the name of Coral. Attach a copy of the email sent to the company that the management of the company is not taking any action.
Send notice to your lawyer in the name of Aditya Infotech Ltd.
The wisdom of friends will come. Will never bother you again. Also, call the number from which you received the call again, the person concerned abused in a good way. This happened to me last time too.

And yes you will get a call from this[protected] number only. After all these actions, call this number daily and ask about their condition.

For learning purpose but I can't know how to used so I uninstall software in 14th day . And now corel member call me and message to and give me warnings for legal notice and forced me to buy there software I can't able to used there software but the force me to buy there software and give me warnings for legal action please help me what to do

I had seen A legal Scam Running in India, Unfortunately Our Indian Corel Argent is Supporting them

They Will Send mail to organization / Students / like that “ We had detected you are using pirated version of software, and you had uninstalled “ - { Even if someone or Org does not use there software they will still blame you without any proof }

I told them i had never used in my life, if they want, they can visit and check or provide proof

And they Call with threating and making you say “yes we had used that software “ - ( “they will say like random number like You are using in 4 or 6 or 3 PCs “ )

They had looted Millions of dollars by doing this [ and they ask Penalty Charge in between 2–3 lakhs otherwise they threat to Do legal Court Activities without any proof ]

I had Read a story about student whom they first looted 70, 000 and then ask for more after

I had contacted Corel, They said They are associate with Corelindia.co.in and you can contact Indian Agent - Unfortunately Corel Indian Agent knows about this and he Doing nothing and supporting those legal scammers

I Request Indian Judicial system and police to see how many Startups, Jobs and Students they destroyed by doing this

At the End I had Spoken aggressively with then Since they are Threating me without any proofs, And then they had send me legal notice again i tried call them and told them in

Person:- “ Humlog kyu bheje apne Agent “ ( probably he thinking i’ll beat by calling him on my street )

Me (in hindi ) :- “ To phir tumlog ke paas proof kiya he ke mene tera software use kiya he “

Aggressive conversation goes and he tell me to do whatever he want, and yes he told hindi “ ha karraha hu scam, jo karna he karle “

they are worst people killing people dreams and startups, Since those people can’t afford lawyer, they destroy life by doing this

first they told they have found 9 installed software, then when i said i am in to "Tiffin Service" now telling me they mistakenly said 9, it's 3.
They have setup same looking website also

They are doing extortion; I'm not using any of their software and Anita Didi says I'm using 6 instances and need to pay for 6 licenses. Are you kidding me? Can we report this to Consumer Forum? or Someone?

2nd email goes like this:

I am Anita Koli from Corel Corporation India team communicating matter pertaining to infringement and license compliance of Corel Product usages at your organization *A*****************

This is to put in your notice that, we identified license discrepancies in 06 instances which are not registered and deployed without proper entitlements at *A************************. However, you are hereby advised to regularize all usages with immediate effect by order and agreements as per the EULA, the products matching your past and present usages and complete the process in next 7 days start from today.
We would also like to highlight that in past, similar instance has been commenced which was never rectified by your organization and would appreciate if you considered this file to get settled amicably before the set timeframes.

Please note, as per our EULA ( End User License Agreement) any installation requires licenses procured in the name of the user organization in advance to use our products else all usages considered illegal and infringement upon our copyright. By knowing or unknowingly some employees might be using the unauthorized software, which need to be rectified by procuring licenses to regularize the usages.

Corel Corporation has Zero Tolerance on Infringement, and we believe you will respect and value the right of the copyright owner of product infringed upon and also will cooperate with us in this legalization drive to be 100% licensed usage.

You are obliged to support Corel’s audit to the best of Your abilities. Corel will not conduct more than one (1) audit per year. Corel will respect Your legitimate interests, the protection of confidential information and applicable law. Hi Anita,

This is to inform you that we haven’t used any Corel products in our organisations. You may check or trace the IPs where it is being used and block it.

We were in talk with one of the reseller with phone number - +[protected] and [protected] but we didn’t purchase.

You may check with your people and resellers for the licenses that were being used.

We confirm that we are not using any CorelDRAW graphics suite software. If you think any, check the licenses assigned to whom.

It’s that simple! We are startup!

As per trail mail, we had confirmed from our end that we are getting 06 Instances in ********* also we are from Corel compliance division, and we will not be calling customers without a right reason and valid information at our end.

Trial versions are not applicable for commercial purpose in the organization. Also uninstalling the software is not a solution to the concerns raised, as per Copyright Act installing infringed copy of a software as per Section 63B is entitled to penalties & damages, Under the Indian Copyright Act, a software pirate can be tried under both civil and criminal law.

Also note that, number of installation and the number of legal licenses cannot defer. Kindly be aware of the fact that installing / using unlicensed Corel Software would be grossly in breach of our End User License Agreement(EULA) and the same shall be treated as a civil wrong and a criminal offence under India Copyright Act Law 1957.

Corel Corporation has an identity as Software Company and is well established brand in the market for its software products & please be sure that we will not be calling customers without a right reason and valid information at our end. We are reaching out to customers & expect customers to take this opportunity to regularize the usage of our software.

We at Corel Corporation are willing to extend our support in case of customer not using legalized version of the software by providing them the right channels to have the same legalized for a safer business environment.

With respect to trail mail, we would request you to do an internal audit & proceed with 06 CorelDraw licenses to close this from our end before – 09th June 2022.

Actual the problem is the reseller & i can even name them, if you ask & dont buy, then they give all details to corel to followup assuming we are using their pirated products.

Yes they are legal frauds, be strong and fight back don't fear legal action.

I've received a similar call from Rukaiya(Mumbai) claiming working for Corel India. I searched Corel India on GST and Ministry of Corporate Affairs Database if there is Corel India registered; but surprisingly there's no information. If you search for Microsoft India or Intuit India, you will get the details on both MCA and GST database but there's no data for Corel India. I contacted Corel support, they said there's no office as Corel India and gave the email address for Sathish Venugopal(Bengaluru). I sent an email to Sathish(India Head) and Christa(CEO of Corel Corporation) asking for the India office where I can file consumer complaint. Lets see.

They are not on a secret mission at Area 51 or in RAW that they can't provide the address in India for consumer Grievances.

Finally received an email from Sathish that I need to contact Rukaiya and Nithesh. Asked them about the Corel India Office. Lets see.
