Crystal Kia, Baner — Unpleasant Experience and Lack of Clarity in Sales Process for Sonet HTK Plus Sunroof

I am Jeevan Patil. I am writing to bring to your attention a series of disappointing events I encountered during my recent interactions with your Kia Crystal Auto Baner showroom, particularly concerning the sales process and offers related to the Sonata HTK Plus Sunroof.

On 29th October 2023, I visited your showroom and had an initial discussion with Mr. Vipul Khonde, a member of your sales team. During this conversation, Mr. Khonde presented an offer that included an extended warranty for an additional two years (3+2) and three years or three services of free maintenance. Although I desired a gray-colored vehicle, I was informed that only silver and black variants were available. Despite this, based on the favorable reviews of the Kia Baner showroom and my trust in Kia's services and offers, I confirmed the purchase of the silver variant at the final on-road price of INR 1, 158, 670, without any negotiation, and initiated a payment of INR 11, 000 through Google Pay.

However, the following sequence of events has been disheartening:

On 30th October 2023, I provided all required information for the loan process but did not receive the final quotation from Mr. Khonde.

On 31st October 2023, Mr. Khonde informed me that the initially proposed offer of extended warranty and free maintenance was not applicable to the HTK+ Sunroof variant. He suggested switching to a variant without a sunroof to avail of the previous offers. Despite this setback and my approximate loss of INR 30, 000, I did not receive any form of compensation or alternative offers.
Finally after insisting I received the quotation copy which is revised for Bank loan from Mr. Subhash but not from Mr. Vipul.

Subsequently, on 1st November 2023, I proceeded with the loan amount of INR 1, 000, 000 from Bank of Baroda and made the remaining full down payment of INR 147, 000 through RTGS, based on the trust in your showroom.

On 6th November 2023, during my visit for RTO, insurance, fastag, and accessories finalization, I encountered further disappointments. Although Mr. Vipul advertised a Diwali offer for free maintenance for three years and extended warranty for five years for the Sonata HTK Plus Sunroof on his WhatsApp status, he denied offering this. When I requested clarification from the manager and team lead, I was given conflicting explanations regarding the unavailability of offers for the newly launched sunroof variant. Furthermore, the lack of available basic accessories, such as the Head Lamp Garnish and Rear Boot Garnish, raised concerns about the completeness and appearance of the vehicle.

Despite these challenges, I have chosen not to cancel my order, as my commitment to decisions made is unwavering. The delivery of the car is scheduled for the auspicious day of Dhanatrayodashi, 10th November 2023.

Regrettably, the experience I have had at the Kothari Group has been highly unsatisfactory, contrary to the positive reviews and recommendations I had received. I sincerely hope for prompt attention and a resolution to these issues to make my first car purchase a positive and rewarding experience.
