I am an ex-serviceman. I used to go for purchasing items from CSD Canteen, Raiwala. But since last 4 months whenev
er I go to Canteen, I found it closed. When I asked from Canteen Incharge, he says there is stock taking, or we are checking stock, or no stock, or staff gone for taking stock. As per rule in all over India, Stock taking or checking carried out in the last 2-3 days of the month. But at CSD canteen, Raiwala there is no rule regulations. In a month there is 3 to
4 times they close canteen for stock taking or checking purpose. At least every week. I don't know why they are doing so. Even now a days canteen is close for one week, telling that new unit is taking charge i.e. upto 20 Aug canteen remains closed for handing over purpose. It will open on 21 Aug, then on 22 Aug (Sunday) half day, then on 26 Aug (Thu) weekly off, then on 29, 30, 31 Aug again stock taking purpose canteen will close.
Now you can imagin canteen is close how many days in a month. 4 Thu, (Weekly off) 4 Sun, (Half day), 3-4 times stock taking for 2 days means 6-8 days, month last 3 days again stock taking, and another festival holidays means 18-20 days in a month canteen closed. How we soldiers and our families can get canteen facility.
