On 1st August 2026, I left my personal water bottle (value ₹4000) at Cult.fit's Doddakallasandra fitness centre. Cult's own housekeeping staff moved the bottle to a shoe rack the same day. The following morning, per Cult's own CCTV footage, another identified member picked up the bottle from the shoe rack and left the centre with it.
I reported this to centre staff the same week and followed up consistently for over six weeks. Cult eventually sent written confirmation of this exact timeline, stating they had identified the member responsible via CCTV and were "actively contacting her" to retrieve the item. No recovery has followed since.
Separately, Cult's corporate support team (via support ticket) responded by citing their Terms o[censored]se clause that personal belongings are at the customer's own risk, and that they do not assume liability for loss or theft of belongings. As a resolution, they offered a 30-day membership extension — unrelated to the actual issue.
This is not an untraceable loss. Cult's own staff physically handled the item, and Cult's own CCTV identified the individual responsible — facts Cult itself confirmed in writing. Their liability disclaimer is intended for cases where a company has no way to trace what happened to a customer's belongings; it does not apply here, and does not excuse their failure to act on evidence they already possess.
Return of the item, or disclosure of the responsible member's details to enable recovery, or fair monetary compensation of ₹4000. I am not seeking a membership extension, which does not address the substance of this complaint. Was this information helpful? |
