I engaged CV Shapers for a resume writing service after being told the writer assigned to my account would personally handle it — a factor in my choosing them. On a later call, I was told that isn't actually how it works.
After payment, the promised immediate draft took two days to arrive. From there, delivery slipped repeatedly over roughly two weeks. I was given specific promised times more than once ("tomorrow afternoon, " "this evening"), and each passed with no draft delivered and no proactive update — I had to follow up every time myself. The draft I did eventually receive also contained a factual overstatement about one of my achievements, which I had to catch and correct myself.
After this pattern continued for close to two weeks, I set a final written deadline. It was missed as well. When I called, I was told the delay was due to a "server outage, " with no clear answer on whether any actual work had been done by that point. I requested a partial refund in writing immediately after. As of today, I have received no response and no refund.
I ultimately completed the resume myself rather than continue waiting. I'm filing this so other prospective customers have an accurate account of the service before they pay.
Note: CV Shapers' website lists no registered business address.
Desired resolution: Partial refund for services not delivered as promised. Was this information helpful? |
