The prepaid taxi kiosk at IGI T3 is running a scam for the last few months. On 2nd October 2023, around 10.00 pm, I went to the counter to book a taxi. The fare was Rs 400 and I gave the man at the counter a Rs 500 note. Between the time I took to zip up my wallet and look up at him, he changed the note and gave me a Rs 100 note saying that I had given him a Rs 100 note instead of Rs 500. I was fairly certain that I gave him a Rs 500 note but he insisted that I gave him a Rs 100 note by mistake. This was late in the evening and as a single woman traveller I did not want to pursue this any further right there, so I gave him another Rs. 400 against which he gave me a receipt for the taxi. So I ended up paying Rs 800 for a trip which should have been Rs 400. The administration should take strict disciplinary action against these criminal elements and ensure safety and service for all travellers at the capital's airport. Was this information helpful? |
