Dynamic Super Speciality Hospital, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad 9 — Medical neglugency in treatment and request to help for compensation against financial loss, physical loss and mental agony

Address: Dynamic super speciality hospital, Memnagar fire station, Navrangpura, ahmedabad 9

Respected Sir/Madam,

Namaskar.

My name is Yatin Bhavsar, and I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding medical negligence in the treatment of my wife, Mrs. Khushbu Bhavsar.

She underwent a laparoscopic cholecystectomy on 25/12/2025 at Dynamic Super Speciality Hospital, Ahmedabad, under the care of Dr. Ankur Patel and co-doctor Dr. Mayank Jain. She was discharged the next day, on 26/12/2025.

From the very first day after discharge, my wife experienced persistent pain in the epigastric and umbilical port areas. We repeatedly informed the doctors about her condition through telephonic communication, especially Dr. Mayank Jain. However, without any proper consultation or physical examination, we were consistently told that such pain is normal after surgery.

Approximately 14–15 days later, during stitch removal (around 07/01/2026), we again reported ongoing pain along with visible redness and swelling at both port sites. Despite these clear symptoms, no proper investigation or action was taken, and we were again reassured that the condition would heal with time.

Based on the doctor’s advice that recovery would take around 15 days, my wife resumed work in Mumbai on 16/01/2026. However, on 17/01/2026, she observed pus discharge from both wound sites. Upon sharing photographs with the doctor, she was prescribed antibiotics (Linid 600 and Claribid 500 twice daily, along with Naxpro RD 40 once daily).

Despite continued medication, the condition did not improve. On 24/01/2026 and again on 27/01/2026, we consulted the doctor due to worsening symptoms. However, without conducting any diagnostic tests such as ultrasound sonography, the doctor reopened both port sites under local anesthesia and performed cleaning. The same antibiotics were continued along with dressing for 15 days.

Due to the prolonged healing process, my wife had to take continuous leave of approximately 30 days (leave without pay), instead of the expected 15 days. The antibiotic treatment and dressing continued for nearly two months, during which she experienced severe side effects including nausea, vomiting, anemia, drastic hair loss, fatigue, and inability to eat properly. These concerns were communicated multiple times, but no changes were made to the treatment plan and these adverse effects not informed by doctor before starting of treatment.

Subsequently, she developed dark brown discoloration on her tongue. Blood tests were then advised, which revealed a drop in hemoglobin from 10.8 g/dL to 7.7 g/dL. This led to further complications such as weakness, breathing issues, and severe mental distress. She was deeply depressed and even expressed suicidal thoughts during this period, requiring constant family support.

After two months, the doctor stopped the medication and dressing, stating that the wounds had healed. However, within five days, pus discharge reappeared from one port site, and after 15 days from the second site. This again caused severe mental trauma.

At this stage, we sought a second opinion. The new doctor advised that such antibiotics are typically prescribed for a maximum of 24–28 days. An ultrasound sonography was conducted, which revealed a sinus tract at the infected site, confirming a port site infection. We were informed that this condition have been caused due to contaminated surgical instruments or poor sterilization practices. My wife was also diagnosed with a Non-Tuberculous Mycobacterial (NTM) infection, and the AFB culture report is still awaited.

We were also informed that other patients operated on around the same time had developed similar infections, raising serious concerns about hospital hygiene and surgical standards.

Due to delayed diagnosis and improper treatment, my wife had to undergo another surgical procedure for sinus tract removal surgery. ( Infection and sinus tract was badly developed and belly botten ( navel) is removed during surgery to come out from infection) at a different hospital.

Over a period of more than four months (from 25/12/2025 to 25/04/2026, and she is still under recovery), we have suffered immensely—physically, mentally, and financially. My wife, who works in an IT company, had to take more than four months of leave without pay (monthly salary ?1.33 lakh), significantly impacting her professional and financial stability. We have also incurred substantial additional medical expenses.

In light of the above, I humbly request you to:

1. Take appropriate action against doctor and hospital for medical negligence.
2. Provide fair compensation for the financial loss, mental distress, and physical suffering endured by my wife.

All relevant medical documents and reports are attached for your reference.

We sincerely hope for your prompt attention and justice in this matter.
Also we have doctor communication that also prove that port site sinus tract infection occured due to poor and inadequate sterlization of surgical equipments.
Thanking you.

Yours faithfully,
Yatin Bhavsar
