I am a member of the website freelancer.com. Recently i was allotted a job. The job description was insufficient and even after repeated requests from me no data, files, instructions were made available to me to facilitate starting the work. The employer just stopped responding to my messages. Even on milestone was created.
I suspect the job posting was totally fake. Strangely the website was very prompt in charging me project fees for a fake job. Please note that the web site charges me regularly for membership fees. Project fees is additional fees based on project cost.
Thank god, in this case the project cost as per offer was usd150 and i was charged usd15. Had the project cost been usd1500, i would have been doomed.
I advise unsuspecting freelancers to be aware of such unscrupulous elements. Was this information helpful? |
