Subject: Complaint Regarding Defective Product, Misleading Sales Information, Refund and Compensation Request
The Consumer Grievance Authority,
I would like to file a complaint against Frootle Store regarding a defective product, poor customer service, misleading product demonstration, and the mental stress caused to me and my family.
On 09 May 2026, I purchased a Kuvings B1700 Slow Juicer from the above-mentioned store for Rs. 20, 500. The store staff and manager marketed the product as a premium and convenient slow juicer and convinced me to purchase it by stating that whole fruits could be inserted directly into the machine without much preparation.
However, within just two days of purchase, the product started overheating/melting and completely stopped working. I immediately contacted the store and requested a refund because the product was defective from the beginning. But the store refused to provide a refund and informed me that a technician would visit for inspection.
No technician visited my home. When I repeatedly followed up, the store staff stated that they had called me and that I did not attend the call. This continued for nearly one week, causing unnecessary stress and inconvenience to me.
Due to the lack of proper response, I personally visited the store again. Even there, instead of resolving the issue peacefully, the staff argued with us and caused mental harassment. Only after repeated arguments and pressure did they finally agree to replace the product.
The replacement product was delivered to us, and we were strictly instructed not to touch or use it until the demo session. During the demo conducted later, the technician informed us that fruits must be cut into very small pieces before inserting them and several usage restrictions were explained. This was completely different from the sales promises made at the time of purchase. The store had advertised and demonstrated the product as capable of handling whole fruits directly, which heavily influenced my decision to purchase this expensive model.
If these restrictions and actual usage conditions had been clearly explained earlier, I would never have purchased this product for such a high amount.
At present, the replacement product remains unused and in new condition. I no longer have trust or confidence in the product or the store due to:
Supply of a defective product within two days of purchase
Misleading marketing and false sales promises
Delay in service and false follow-up claims
Poor customer handling and harassment at the store
Severe mental stress, disappointment, and waste of time caused to me and my family, Additionally, even in the replacement product provided by the store, only one jar was supplied whereas the original package and pricing included two jars. Instead of providing the complete accessories promised at the time of purchase, they supplied only one jar along with strainers. This further proves the unfair trade practice and incomplete replacement provided by the store. Despite collecting the full amount for the complete product package, the replacement product given to me was incomplete and not equivalent to what was originally purchased. This has increased my disappointment and loss of trust towards the store and brand.Therefore, I kindly request:
Full refund of Rs. 20, 500
Compensation for mental harassment, inconvenience, and loss of trust caused by the store’s negligence and misleading representation
Necessary action against the store to prevent similar issues for other customers
I request immediate intervention and resolution of this complaint at the earliest
