I wish to bring to your attention the unresolved issue regarding the incorrect gas bill generated during the first month after my connection was activated.
After the first billing cycle, I noticed an unusually high meter reading of approximately 15–18 units, despite very minimal usage. On further observation, I found that the gas meter continued to register consumption even when no gas appliance was in use. I immediately reported the issue to the gail gas customer care.
Following my complaint, the engineer visited the premises, inspected the installation, and confirmed that there was gas leakage in the connection. The leakage was rectified during the visit. At that time, the engineer assured me that the excessive consumption recorded due to the leakage would be considered, and the incorrect bill would either be revised or adjusted based on the actual consumption reflected in the subsequent billing cycle.
As expected, the next month's consumption dropped significantly to only 2–3 units, which clearly demonstrates that the unusually high consumption during the first month was not due to my usage but was caused by the leakage in the gas connection.
Despite this, I have had to raise multiple complaints, but the issue remains unresolved.

The closure remark provided states:
"ITS WAS RESOLVED. GAS LEAKAGE COMPLAINT RESOLVED SAME DAY, INVOICE OF 798 CANNOT BE REDUCED."
While the leakage itself may have been repaired on the same day, my grievance has never been about the repair of the leakage; it is about the incorrect billing caused by that confirmed leakage. Simply repairing the leakage does not address the financial loss suffered due to the faulty connection.
As a consumer, it is unreasonable to expect me to detect a slow gas leakage in the service connection during the very first month of service. The leakage occurred in the connection provided by the organization and was subsequently confirmed by their own engineer. Therefore, the excessive meter reading was beyond my control and cannot reasonably be attributed to my gas consumption.
I request your prompt intervention and an early resolution.
