Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to you today to express my outrage and dismay at the fraudulent activities committed by the Founders and Head of Operations of Geeklurn Edutech Pvt Ltd, Mr. Kamalapuram Srinivas Kalyan and Mr. Rupesh & Asha (no more an employee of Geeklurn as per my knowledge- [protected]). I am a victim of their cheating and fraudulent scheme, and I demand that they be held accountable for their actions.
To provide you with a detailed account of the incident, I came across Geeklurn in October 2022 based on their Zero cost study advertisement, with the intention of changing my career in Data Science. One of their salespeople (Rupesh & Asha) connected with me and described the various courses and scholarships that they offered. They promised to provide me with free studies until I got a job placement and after that, I had to pay. They asked for all of my documents for admission purposes, and, by misleading me and manipulating my words and documents, they took a loan amount of INR 278, 000 from Propelled.com & Avanse Finance services Pvt Ltd within just a span of 1-2 hours.
After my admission, they promised to pay me each month before the EMI date in the name of Scholarship and assured me that if I did not get placed, then my loan would be closed by Geeklurn Edutech Pvt Ltd only. They had also written the same thing on their website at that time. They promised that the course would be completed in six months, and we would get placed by them at a minimum salary package of 8LPA. However, they started taking only a few classes each month and ignoring the studies part as well. It was only later that I realized that I had been cheated by these people.
In late Feb 2023, they asked us to pay the EMI to their finance partner on dated 04th MAY 2023 and assured us that they would pay us back in the name of Scholarship after three days on dated 09th MAY 2023. I borrowed some money and paid it to them, but they did not pay me back on dated 09th MAY 2023. After that, they kept postponing the payment, and they failed to meet their commitment several times. They said that they would pay on June 2023.
Now the situation is that they have stopped our classes, are not resolving our queries, not picking up our calls, and not giving us the money as per their commitments. I have been mentally disturbed and harassed by these people. I have asked them several times to cancel the course because the quality of education is very poor, but no one is responding. They have not provided what they promised, and they have cheated us.
Furthermore, I have learned that this scam is not isolated and that Geeklurn Edutech Pvt Ltd has cheated around 3000 students and has a scam of approximately 100 crores rupees. Their old office address was #450, DBS Business Center DBS House, 26, Cunningham Road Bengaluru Karnataka-560052, and their new office address is IndiQube, South Summit, 1st Floor, S End RD, Vijayarangam Layout, Jayanagar, Bengaluru Karnataka-560004.
I request your assistance in cancelling the loan (loan account number – LXS-H[protected] obtained from AVANSE Finance Limited and Funding partner PROPELLED.COM, as it was processed under misleading circumstances. Furthermore, I seek compensation for the mental harassment and agony I have endured, which has caused significant distress and negatively impacted my career. I lost my only job 8 months ago due to the actions of Geeklurn Edutech Pvt Ltd, PROPELLED.COM and NBFC - AVANSE Finance Limited. Additionally, I have incurred numerous bounce charges from KVB Bank Ltd as a consequence of their deceptive practices. It is important to note that I have suffered immensely as a result of their fraudulent practices.
I kindly urge you to expedite the cancellation of the loan and ensure that appropriate measures are taken to hold Geeklurn Edutech Pvt Ltd, its founders, PROPELLED.COM, NBFC – AVANSE Finance Limited and Funding partner. accountable for their actions. Additionally, I seek your support in obtaining fair compensation for the mental harassment and loss of job I have experienced.
This further supports my belief that there has been a serious scam committed by Geeklurn Edutech Pvt Ltd and its Founder, Mr. Kamalapuram Srinivas Kalyan and he should be held accountable for their actions. I urge you to take strict action against him. When we tried reaching out on LinkedIn and other social media websites, he is directly blocking us without any response. Also, all the staff of Geeklurn have stopped responding to emails and calls
I also want to highlight the fact that I have brought up these concerns with both Geeklurn Edutech Pvt Ltd and PROPELLED.COM regarding the loan disbursement and EMI collection process. I asked them if it is an educational loan how it was possible for them to disburse the full loan amount to the institute even before the completion of the course, and start collecting EMIs from me on the very first day of joining. Moreover, the loan was disbursed to a third-party account, which is not permitted under RBI guidelines for personal loans. When I asked them to clarify this, they were unable to provide me with any satisfactory explanation.
Further investigation has revealed that PROPELLED.COM, now AVANSE Finance Limited and Funding partner, was involved in the disbursement of the loan to Geeklurn Edutech Pvt Ltd without adhering to RBI guidelines. This raises serious questions about their complicity in this fraudulent activity.
I kindly urge you to expedite the cancellation of the loan and ensure that appropriate measures are taken to hold Geeklurn Edutech Pvt Ltd, its founders, PROPELLED.COM, AVANSE Finance Limited and Funding partner - Avanse Financial Services Ltd. accountable for their actions. Additionally, I seek your support in obtaining fair compensation for the mental harassment and pushing towards suicidal thoughts. It is important to note that I have suffered immensely as a result of their fraudulent practices.
Seeking your support to get students out of this trap and ensure such EdTech's and 3rd party finance partners are audited and necessary actions are taken against them.
