Hello,
I am writing to formally register a complaint regarding a faulty MacBook Air purchased from your Palwal store, Haryana, on 14/08/2024 (invoice attached).
The laptop was purchased by me ( IT team member), and sent to me earlier this week. Upon attempting to use the laptop for the first time yesterday, I found that it did not turn on. After connecting it to the charger, the MacBook eventually powered on, but I was greeted with a message in the battery settings stating, "Battery service recommended" and "Battery is not charging."
I promptly contacted Apple customer care and followed their suggestion to upgrade the software, but unfortunately, the software update did not resolve the issue. Subsequently, I visited the Unicorn repair center in Mumbai, where the problem was diagnosed as a defective battery that requires replacement (see email below).
Arun (our IT team member), confirmed that when the MacBook was initially unboxed at the store, it did not power on until the charger was connected. After ensuring the display was functioning, the staff returned the laptop to its packaging without further testing.
Having been a loyal Apple customer for over a decade, I have never encountered such an issue with a newly purchased product. This experience has been highly disappointing, and I am seeking immediate resolution.
Given the circumstances, I request a full refund, replacement, or upgrade of the defective product as soon as possible.
