Gurinder Singh — dpf clogged

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a serious issue I am facing with my Mahindra Scorpio. which is currently with your authorised service center [Service Center Name and Location].

Issue Summary:
• The vehicle displayed DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) and OBD warning lights, following which it was taken to the authorized service center.
• Upon inspection, I was informed that the DPF is clogged and needs replacement, with the estimated repair cost exceeding ₹1, 00, 000.
• To my shock, I was also informed that I would be charged ₹30, 000 in parking fees, despite the delay being caused primarily by Mahindra’s service process and lack of clarity on warranty coverage.
• Additionally, when I requested the detailed terms and conditions of the DPF warranty, I was refused access to the relevant documentation, which is against basic consumer rights and transparency.

My Concerns:
1. Non-Disclosure of Warranty Terms:
• As a customer, I am entitled to a clear explanation of what is and isn’t covered under warranty.
• Refusing to share the warranty terms raises serious concerns about the transparency of Mahindra’s after-sales policy.
2. DPF Failures in Urban Use:
• This issue has been widely reported by several Mahindra customers in similar driving conditions. If the DPF is not engineered to handle common Indian road/traffic conditions, it reflects a design flaw.
3. Unjustified Charges:
• ₹30, 000 as a “parking fee” is excessive and unacceptable, especially when the vehicle is held up due to internal assessment delays and unclear warranty coverage.
• No prior written communication or notice was provided regarding the accrual of such charges.

My Expectations:
• Immediate waiver of the ₹30, 000 parking charge.
• A clear, written explanation of the DPF warranty terms as per my model’s service and warranty booklet.
• If the vehicle is within the standard or extended warranty period, the DPF issue must be resolved free of charge, as per consumer rights and industry standards.
• Failing resolution, I reserve the right to approach the Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and share this issue publicly across forums and regulatory channels.

I hope Mahindra & Mahindra will take this matter seriously and resolve the issue at the earliest without further inconvenience.
