Dear Sir/Madam,
I am approaching you in regards to a complaint against HappyFares TRAVELOGY ONLINE PRIVATE LIMITED. They provided misleading statements and provided my partial refund for a cancellation that was initiated by the airline itself and conveyed to me by HappyFares by email. The air ticket was from Amritsar to Melbourne via Air Asia X for dated 04/10/2024 and I paid INR 85, 324/-. There were a total 3 passengers included in the ticket; one of them was me, my wife, and my son.
I am living in Melbourne, and I was coming to India on 12/09/24 for cremation of my father's ashes who passed away 4 months ago in Melbourne. My return ticket was on 04/10/2024 with all the above mentioned details. On 28/08/2024 i received a email from respective company regarding cancellation of flight. As I was already in grief with my father's sudden demise, all of sudden cancellation email was also a shock and headache for me to rearrange all the things. I call to company's phone number mentioned above and one of their operator confirm me that my flight from Amritsar and connecting flight from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne was cancelled .
As I have to return on same date 04/10/2024, I ask them to rearrange anything but they refused. Then I ask for refund and how much money in total I will get back? He informed me that there will be a deuction of INR 600/- per person as a payment gateway charges . Ads it is company's policy it will be deducted from total refund and I will receive in total INR 83, 524/- as refund. I told him that cancellation done by airline, It was not initiated by me so there should not be any deduction but he just stuck to his statement related to payment gateway charges and told me that I will get refund in 45-60 days. I ask him I have to return back and I need money asap but it was of no use.
On dated 17/10/2024 I received a SMS and email regarding refund amount which was reflecting refund amount as INR 47, 697/- which was credited a day later in bank account.I was shocked to see this figure and what was told to me. I call their customer care number and their operator was trying to convince me that refund amount is INR 83524/- but sometimes the transaction more than INR 50, 000/- credited partially so please wait for 2-3 days more. I was not convinced at all with this reply. Next day I sent a message regarding refund on their live chat platform, there they told me that I will get only 47, 697/-other amount is not refundable.
I sent them number of emails clarifying them that cancellation was initated by airline, there is no my fault and then why I will bear such a big loss for no reason? But all left in vain.
I am in deep shock with this kind of rip off and day light robbery.
Due to work commitments I have to come back same date 04/10/2024 from Amritsar. I have to buy another ticket for INR 120, 000. I paid INR 35, 000/- more for a new ticket and lost 35, 000/- for no reason. As I was returning 04/10/2024 my flight was on 07:50pm. On display screen, I was shocked to see the earlier flight which was conveyed to me as cancelled was operating on same day and same time 11:10PM. I have a proof which shows it was operated on same day.
Sir/Madam, I humbly request you to please look in to the matter and get my hard earned money back. I am travelling for so many years but this kind of rip off I have never experienced.
I have uploaded related documents but there was only option for 3 docs, I have few more if you need I will send you later . I hope I will get justice for this day light robbery.
I will be really thankful to you for your quick response.
