I would like to bring to your attention a matter of serious concern involving the builder of my residential complex (HRERA Reg. No. RERA-GRG[protected], whose conduct has raised multiple questions around transparency, accountability, and consumer rights.
Recently, after requesting a No Dues Certificate, I was abruptly informed by members of the facility team — Mr. Deepak (Facility Manager) and Mr. Kushanpal (Accountant/Electrician) — that I am liable to pay ₹23, 000 in outstanding maintenance and electricity charges, allegedly accumulated over the past five years. This demand came without prior notification, documented communication, or justification.
The only account ledger shared previously by the builder’s office does not reflect these dues. When questioned, the staff claimed that the official ledger is “incorrect” — a statement that suggests gross negligence in financial record-keeping and raises suspicions of malpractice.
I find it unacceptable to be held accountable for an amount that was neither communicated earlier nor backed by any transparent financial trail. The sudden presentation of this liability seems to be a result of internal mismanagement, which I, as a resident and consumer, should not be penalized for.
I hereby request the consumer forum to intervene in this matter by:
1. Investigating the alleged discrepancies in the builder’s accounting practices.
2. Directing the builder to issue a verified, itemized, and audited statement of account.
3. Preventing any coercive measures until the matter is resolved fairly.
4. Ensuring that such practices are addressed in accordance with consumer rights and regulatory obligations.
