Hi-Line Park — lift major repairs

There are three wings in my society. Each wing has one lift. Out of the three two wings have 18flats and my wing has only 8flats. Society is asking each wing society members to get the lift repaired at their own cost individually. According to me lift is a property of the society. Society should bear the expenses. All the members are paying maintenance regularly. How they can ask members to do the repairs wing wise individually? Please trow light on this issue legally
