I have bought Honda Amaze Diesel on October, 2013. My Vehicle Regn No is KL 01 BM 73.
Before sharing my bad experience, my background in driving. Infact we bought 4 Amaze car at a time, 2 to my family and 2 to our relatives. I’m driving with different type of cars for the last 15 years. Before buying Amaze, I was using Ford Figo Diesel variant . I used the Fiego car for around 2 lakhs kilometre and I replaced the clutch after 1.25 lakhs kilometre. After considering Honda as well known trustworthy brand I have chosen over other brands despite paying slightly higher amount and taken additional warranty as well.
Just after 19000 Kms, noticed loss of power at lower gears and now rattle sound in first gear. I took it to the dealer and found to my disappointment that the clutch plate is worn out and needs to be replaced. I was really shocked to hear that. Apparently, the warranty does not cover the clutch plate. The showroom guys were saying as my Driving was not proper. Infact, I still remember my previous experience while i changed the clutch from Ford Figo, the guys were saying as 1, 25000 km in a single clutch plate is Amazing!!! While I described about this to Honda showroom guys, the reply was, Ford and Amaze using different technologies and we cant compare with Ford!!! Very funny, Isn’t it?
Again I accepted their arguments and changed the clutch to a new one. But to show my frustration somehow, I changed the service center from Pensula TVM to perfect Honda Tvm. I was taking extreme care after that for clutch because of realization that Honda’s clutch is very sensitive. I asked the showroom guy to sit with me to identify my driving fault if any and he has no complaint to spot out. Now comes the more worst part. After nearly 6 months, (~ 7000 Km), again I felt as the clutch is dropping. Yesterday I again visited service center. The reply from service person was not only shocking but embracing, disgusting and frustrating. The reply was “ Sir, Its time to change your Clutch plate since it's worn out !!!” . What reply should I give? ???
Now the car is in Perfect Honda Service center, TVM. Tell me, what I need to do? I have decided to buy Amaze because of the brand name. However, it never stood out to the promise at all. Faulty clutch plates, and other related parts is due to bad design and quality, I have never experienced this level of poor quality parts in any other four wheeler brands. Honda needs to stand up and replace the parts for free as it is completely a case of bad parts quality and design. I am afraid that i have made wrong decision trusting Honda as my first car. Disappointed. Initially, my plan was to post my bad experience to my Technopark employees group along with all vehicle feedback related sites. But later I decided to hear your parts as well before taking the decision.

I also have a similar problem. I have bought my Honda Amaze in July 2014, My Vehicle Regn No is RJ35CA1358.
After 14000 KM I felt loose of power and at 14200 suddenly my car lost pick-up at all. I took it to dealer AutoKam Honda, Udaipur. They said that clutch plate is broke down and needs to be replaced. They says that its is not covered in Warranty. While repairing they mentioned that Pressure plate and Flywheel also needs to be replaced. They gave me a bill of 25000 Rs. My car is in workshop from past three days.
I do not understand how clutch plate, pressure plate and flywheel can be worn at in a new car. Reason they give is driving conditions. I am driving from past five years. And have driven Maruti and Ford cars. I never need to replace clutch plates even at 95000 kms on Swift DZire. I asked the dealer to sit with me a point out the fault in driving pattern. However I did not got a answer from them.
When I researched on google I found hundreds of Similar cases like this across India. Does these means all of these complaining customers are bad drivers? I think Honda should make a driving test mandatory before selling cars as per their quality standards.
I have read the cases on various forum where even after replacing clutch plates, it worn out again very soon. I think Honda should address this issue and provide a constructive solution.
My car is still in workshop. Can anyone suggest what should be done?
I am not sure if this forum will be helpful for my case, but I am sure future buyers or Honda Amaze owners with similar problem can related to clutch plate issue.

I am a proud owner of Honda Amaze 1.2 SX MT (I-VTEC) Reg. No HP 63 8763 I purchase this car in May 2016 from Hallmark Honda Ahmedabad. I have got my car properly serviced on regular intervals. Till the time total running of my car is only 9553 KM.
truly speaking the reason behind purchasing a Honda car was purely with engine performance and quality of service. I was made to believe that they are always present in my service for any issues which I could face with regard to the vehicle under their warranty scheme.
On 10th March 17 mid night I was enjoying my ride at 80-90 Km/Hrs on Mumbai –Pune Express highway, suddenly I noticed that my car is not accelerating further even after giving acceleration.
I have parked my car on service road near to Talegaon toll plaza which is 24 KM away from my place of residence. to understand the reason behind this behavior but could not able to understand anything as there were no alarm on my dash board, after a while I again restarted my car and tried to drive again, unfortunately the car didn’t pick up .
Understanding that there are some problem in my car I asked help from my insurance provided for towing of vehicle to Honda Service center and drop my family to my home in Pune. Though the entire process has taken 4 hours and I have to stand on side of highways along with 4 females and 1 two month old baby. This was really a nightmare and scaring for me.
Later in the day I got a call from Deccan Honda (Pimpri) branch than my car’s clutch plate, pressure plate, fly wheel assembly has been damaged and need to be replaced and the total cost of repair is estimated to Rs. 25000/- and this will not cover under warranty as this is a wear and tear part .
I am not sure on how should I react or express my feelings in such a scenario. A Honda car is normally preferred for its engine quality especially for its Petrol engines. How can it lost its torque suddenly while cruising at a speed of 80-90 Km/Hrs. Had my car’s usage been very heavy, I would have taken the logic of wear and tear as well. But at 9553 KMs, that too in a patrol car, where you presume that till at least 2-3 lac KMs, it wouldn’t show any sign of slowing down, and even no observation has been highlighted in recent preventive maintenance service. It’s beyond understandable levels.
As per Service manager of Deccan Honda Pimpri Branch the problem occurs due to my bad driving even though I had drive many cars in last 10 years .
So guys until you don’t own a taxi badge, you should not purchase any Honda car as if any thing goes wrong they will blame you for your driving skills .
I also thinks Honda should never sell any car to anyone without having driving test done and for those who is having less than 50 years of driving experience and should conduct fortnightly driving test

Hi, I purchased new Honda jazz car in July 2016 from pride Honda miyapur, Hyderabad. Just after 3rd service and 11000kms, I had noticed issue with pickup and mileage in my car and I was told to replace the clutch pads completely and no warranty for this and even they are blming on my driving. I lost hope in honda and service. Its purely waste and never go to any Honda car
Clutch plate premature wear is due to poor driver expertise. nothing to do with Honda or Maruti or anybody else.
A good driver can easily achieve clutch life of 60-70 thousand kms without any issue when driven in city and highway. if you are living in hilly area like Shimla / manali/Gangtok then clutch life will reduce due to frequent marching off on inclined rodads.

Hello All,
I have bought Honda Jazz in 2016 and after 22000 KM clutch plates were burnt and I had to replace with new one and again after immediate 2000 KM i had to replace with new one again. Now within even 100 KM it looks like the clutch plates gone again . And Sundaram Honda secunderabad is pretending that it is my driving fault. I totally disagree with that and cannot accept with them.
Request someone to suggest on this how to handle
Thanks
