[Resolved]  Hostel Shubhanchal, Ina, New Delhi — inability of fair judgement by warden mrs ranjan swarup

The hostel warden is biased and takes decisions purely on the basis of personal relationships with some residents. And does not miss on passing vulgar and nasty comments to girls.

Instead of multiple requests to enforce basic rules in the room, we dint get a fair treatment from her.

She is not ready to take insight of the situation and judge in a fair way rather, she gets rigid and tries to persuade the requester to adjust according to her favorite residents. She turns the situation to "you are the one who is wrong" and the situation is in favor of the favorite ones.

For her favorite residents, she has no rules but benefits. Such as:

1. They can keep the lights on for as long as they want (Very inconsiderate of the fellow roommates who work 12 hours and do not get to have proper rest and have to go to work next morning. While favorite ones can enjoy the pleasure of not being working, sleeping in the day and studying in the night)
2. Even if they are not working for years and years, they are allowed to stay in the "working women hostel" for as long as they please. The brochure says: only working women allowed to stay.
3. They can stay in the hostel for as long as they want. (And 3 years for normal residents. I know people living for 8 years now.)
4. Favorite students can occupy the space in room (By keeping their luggage) even when they are not officially staying in the hostel.
5. Favorite students can study in the room whole night while all others stick to the basic brochure rule of turning off lights at 11 pm and study in the study room.
6. Favorite residents complaints will be addressed in their favor while all others "do not mess with the wardens favorite ones."

Just like before, we got the same response from her and after hearing this again and again, we are hopeless and dont know whom to go to.

Suggestion: there should be someone in hierarchy above warden, who is available on specific times in a week, and can address such cases in a fair way.

Kindly arrange a meeting of trustee with the residents. As she is the head of the hostel, she should listen to our problems and grievances and to take a fair solution regarding the problems.
