Hi,

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the misleading and unethical practices employed by Shine.com (HT Media Ltd) representatives during my recent interaction with your services dated 24th Mar 2025. I was initially informed by your representative (Rahul) that the total cost for your services would only be Rs. 3, 292. However, after making the payment, I was subjected to additional undisclosed charges, including:

Service name :Education Verification Plus Package
Cost : Rs 5192.00

Service name: Job Profile Verification Plus Package and Featured Profile : 90 days
Cost : Rs 9556.00

Even after paying these exorbitant amounts, I was further asked to pay an additional Rs. 15451.00 to Executive Level Resume Writing Services and Professional Summary. At no point during the initial conversation were these hidden charges disclosed to me, which constitutes a clear case of misrepresentation and unfair business practice.

This lack of transparency is unacceptable, and it appears that Shine.com ( HT Media Ltd) is exploiting desperate job seekers by withholding critical pricing information. I feel cheated and misled, and I have no intention of continuing with your services under these circumstances.

My Demands:
Immediate cancellation of all services associated with my account.

Full refund of all amounts paid ( Rs. 3659 + Rs. 5195 + Rs. 8684 + Rs. 13, 388 + Rs. 13, 966 + Rs. 19, 127 + Rs. 25, 973 + Rs. 29, 162 + Rs. 29, 469 = Rs. 1, 48, 623)

I expect a resolution within 5 business days. If I do not receive a satisfactory response, I will be forced to escalate this matter to:

Consumer Helpline (https://consumerhelpline.gov.in/)
RBI’s Banking Ombudsman (if payment was via credit/debit card)
Social media and public forums to warn other job seekers about these unethical practices.

I trust you will take this matter seriously and act promptly to rectify this situation. Please acknowledge this email and provide a resolution at the earliest.
