Summary of Incident:
On the first day, I completed the full medical test in under 1 hour. The next day I was informed over the phone that my X-ray had an issue, and I was asked to take antibiotics for a week before returning.
During my revisit, I was told there was a scar in my chest X-ray, and Gulf countries might declare me unfit. Instead of redoing the X-ray, I requested a CT scan for better clarity. The doctor agreed and referred me to a private scan center, where I paid ₹1500 out of pocket.
I was forced to wait over 5 hours at the CT scan center due to high patient load (mostly cancer cases). I was denied direct access to my scan report and was told the report would be sent to Huma Medical Center.
The following day, I was declared “Unfit” without proper explanation or transparency. I requested copies of my medical reports and X-rays but was only given a brief, typed summary – no imaging files or detailed reports were shared.
Suspecting malpractice, I did a second CT scan at a different diagnostic center, and the report came completely normal, showing no sign of any major issue or scar.
I later returned to Oman, completed my medical check-up again, and received a “FIT” certificate with no complications.
My Concerns:
Lack of transparency in report handling.
Referral to a tied-up private scan center for unclear reasons.
Denial of access to medical reports, despite full payment.
Deliberate delay and manipulation to declare me unfit without strong justification.
Strong suspicion of malpractice and unethical behavior by Huma Medical Center staff.
Mental and financial stress caused by the ordeal, and unnecessary delay in my work re-entry process.
This kind of experience damages the trust of Indian citizens and migrant workers who go abroad for their livelihood. It is a serious issue that needs to be investigated and addressed.
I Request:
A formal investigation into the practices of Huma Medical Center.
Action against the misuse of GAMCA medical appointments for financial or political gain.
A system where patients can access their full reports transparently.
Refund or compensation for the losses incurred (₹11, 500 total).
An update from GAMCA/Wafid on the next steps and complaint process.
