I think GOI should take some harsh steps toward these type fraud university. Even I am facing the same problem here. ICFAI is there to trap N exploit the students.

Same thing happened to me. They are exploiting students by making us sign without reading, saying last date, last minute. We did not sign stamp papers. They are not a banking institution recognized by rbi, they cannot do anything... see i think we should all join together and file a consumer court case against icfai. Otherwise they will file cases on us and blacklist us in lot of ways!

My story is also listed on site for non-refund. Lets all unite together and get help from the consumer protection law where if a service is not been taken the refund can be taken... so i request all to come up together and file complaint at Consumer Rights Protection Council, lets get the justice for recovering the hard earned money of our parents by a united effort.

I am sorry to say but ICFAI Sucks big time, please get people out from this money making pvt company.

Even i m facing the same problem. ICFAI sent me notice from some SAMJHOTA court of hydrabad asking to reply within a month otherwise a warning of legal action.

My family in such a tension. My dad is heart patient and these ICFAI letters and notice make me so worried about him.

I don't know what to do.

I was thinking of applying for Icfai's course but then thought of surfing the net to get some information. The information I discovered was shocking! ICFAI is a money sucking machine and not even entitled to be qualified as a university. It is not even recognized by AICTE! From what i have learnt, it fools students and forces them to pay large sums of money on false pretext. Many students have registered complaints against this fraud university and I fully support those students who have been fooled by this so called university.

I am Also sailing in the SAME SHIP.

I'm also one of the sufferers like you all, suffering because of ICFAI. I'm from chennai. My case is worse than yours. I
joined in June 2007, by paying 10,000 and remaining in EMI(18 cheques) and in the month of july i got admission in another good college regular MBA, when i decided to discontinue the program and i went to meet the officials in Chennai office they said, u can withdraw from the program by paying the full money(Rs.78,000). Who will pay for???? Mr. Dean of ICFAI will do so????? I clearly informed them not to present my cheque as i have given stop payment for the cheques which I've given. I've written more than 5 emails and 3 letters with acknowledgement to Hifco and ICFAI, but they kept on presenting my cheque. After that they have issued couple of legal notice and now they have filed a case against me. I have to present myself infront of the court on 27th December at Hyderabad. My experience with ICFAI has been very frustrating. They are very good at intimidating students and forcing them to pay-up the full fee. People, please don't fool yourself by thinking that the monthly EMI is like a normal monthly college fee. It's like any other EMI you pay to buy a car, bike, house etc. Therefore, you might decide to discontinue with the course, but you will have to continue paying the EMIs. If you give 'stop payment' order to your back against the PDCs, you will start getting notices from ICFAI's legal/financial agencies like Hifco Marwel and Max Wealth India.

Once you decide to get into the mess called 'ICFAI Distance Learning' program, there's no getting out. BEWARE!!!

ICFAI is the worst university I have ever seen; unfortunately I am a student of it.
They don't have any student care department (in fact they have but that doesn't work)their mailboxes are always full with complaints so yours will never reach( failure delivery notice!)
They always look to fail students so that they can earn regularly, at the time of placement they turn away. At the time of admission they will give you many promises but not even single will be fulfilled. You will all ways feel trapped!! So beware of this university and their aggressive marketing techniques to motivate you to take admission. PLEASE RUN AWAY!!!!!!
It is costliest and toughest and trapping university for any program.

I am join in Aug.2007. now i want to discontinue MBA prog. then i mail to icfai then they are mail me fees is not refunded.but ICFAI is business school . i think they don't knows business policies. when customer is not satisfy or return good's to Shopkeeper then shopkeeper is refund these goods value to customer.

I too agree with your comments. I am also suffering because of this ICFAI(Idiotic Customer Fooling Agents of India). These money wander along the streets with their tongue out, like dogs wander for bones. They pull out money from people's pocket in the name of education. This university is a black mark for our other Indian universities. If we leave them as it is, they will ruin the Education System of our country. Those people who is willing to join hands with me to band this cheating university and to drive them away out of India, please do mail me. They have a very strong background and do this crime. The Judicial system also support these frauds. They have money and influence. So guys please think it over, how to trap this dangerous wild pig. I have no hope that we will get our money back. This is like sugarcane went into elephant's mouth. The only way to punish them is to bomb the university in a holiday and demolish the campus. These kind of violence is the only way to punish these .

Yes, I was also victim of ICFAI too. But have your guys ever did a study about how this game is played? ICFAI play safe. ICFAI will be no where in picture after u r enrolled when it comes to inst payments. It is the Finance company and you who appear in court.

The finance is provided by the third party and not ICFAI personal finance. So, they are playing safe.

The only way to get out of this is on 'MEDICAL GROUNDS'. Submit all your medical records to be eligible to withdraw the studies. Once you get confirmation that you are no more ICFDAI student then you can inturn sue the finance team for harassing and causing further health problem by NOTICE and calls etc...

I have enrolled in MCA program ( Distance learning program) in kolkata on july 2006 and from 2006 to
jan 2008 i have given 6 times exams but not passed. all time
they published exam marks which i think not correct , may be
intensionally made student failed so that they can earn exam
fees every time. They have taken the whole course fees of Rs. 54,000/- whereas other university/institution takes it
semiestarwise of 6 months and after completion of 1st semiestar
, they take the fees of 2nd semiestar. but ICFAI taken all
semiestar fees. They only spend for me that 8 books and one month class.
Can anyone help me so that i can get my money back. If ICFAI
want to deduct money from Rs. 54,000/- then also O.K. But I want some refund because I don't want to continue, may be
there standard is higher than calcutta university or sikkim manipal university etc. because some of my friends gone through final year of MCA program in sikkim manipal and there qualification and standard are more or less same like me.

Although I made mail to Dean of student service department regarding this matter but they not replied 2-3 times and finally
they replied not possible to refund.

In the present scenario, such institutions having no infrastructure are simply making money by enrolling students and through nexus with banks loans are disbursed so as to collect the Fees in advance.Degrees awarded by these institutions have no value in the market, employers do not give cognizance .Students find themselves in pitiable situation as how to pay back the loan.
GOI should intervene and put embargo on such institutions. money making schools must be stopped in the larger interest of society.

ICFAI is the worst kind o[censored]niversity one can ever join. They keep calling you until your join them. Their salesmen are worse than Credit card and personal loan marketeers. And once you join, they'll try to ensure that you don't pass their exams.

Yes, I agree with vandana & feeling sorry for everyone trapped by ICFAI finance agents .
They keep on spamming my mailbox, I frequently see these guys opening there workshop at every corner of major metros.
Luring students who could not qualify CAT, CET with flying colors.
Hoping to fulfill there management dreams but the innocent students don't know how they trap u in their web.
They will take full money & fail you in exams.
I hope more & more people read this & prevent themselves from being fooled by this fake univesrity.

This is all writing in vain and guys who all r writing such rubbish and defaming the university should be severely dealt with and punished. ICFAI is one of the best universities in India and deciding to do a course from ICFAI is at your own risk as the course contents are tough and require thorough studies. The course is definitely not meant for the weak hearted and the frustrated. I am myself a student of ICFAI and doing MBA from the institute for more than the last 2 years.

I am also on same boat .
If anybody filing courtcase i also with u .Mean while why cant we expose them to press so that no other student falls in to their trap .

I have no relation with this university. Though i am a MBA holder from some another university, I would like to suguest you guys to form a group and apeal to the university. Keep a proof and apply to education department and court to get your money back. As long as contract is concern, they can not denay to [give your money back ] as they are still serving and the service is unable to satishfy their customer as per their contract { might be saying 'excellent'} has not finished, you guys can apply for an un-setisfied policy run by service provider to their consumer and these way you may forced to university to pay your money back.

i agree with all who suffering or suffered with cheater icfai university. they are harming indian education standard & that is a matter of same for the government of india education department, they dont take any action regarding these type of cheater university.Govnt. provided them a licence to disapoint innocent and poor student without any output. i want to suggest if possible please complain to cosumer forum court thats no is [protected]

I Ankur Jain enrollment No[protected] have enrolled myself for MBA by paying 10000 bucks. To make the rest of payment I selected EMI. However due to financial inability I am not in position to make the rest of the payment. SO I asked ICFAI guys what is the alternate. but they said as they have Post Dated Cheque so I need to make the payment on time. Else I will come in trouble.

I told them as they already received nearly 7 EMI of Rs. 3250/- & Rs. 10000 in the beginning. So I want to quit at this moment right now. They said we can not do that. This is against the policy I have signed. They said I can not quit from this program. I need to make full payment.

I am not in the position to make the payment.

I told them that as I have not borrowed money from them instead of that I am making the payment for the thing that I am not sure I will able to get that or not. Now I don't want to do that thing so why they are forcing me to make money. i don't have money to give them at this time.

im a student of icfai suffering not only from its money-making frauds. but also the poor quality of infrastructure and faculty quality there.u dont even get the ambience of a b-school there. its equally de-motivating.can u imagine friends?the library is closed cos of a very strange reason-no librarians are appointed!!!. u know lib. & computer labs are vital 4 every b-school.no aicte approval too.they say only 4 technical education aicte approval is necessary, but friends tell me hw many b-schoolshave aicte recognition.our careers are at stake.

I had also enrolled for the MBA programme in Jan 2006 and I signed up for the emi facility. I payed the 10, 000 advancen gave them 18 PDC's. I got engaged in April 2006 n since I was to relocate to another country after my marriage in Nov i decided to discontinue the course. I made a stop payment on my cheques and informed them that i do not wish to continue with the MBA. they of coz said that wsa not possible n dat I have to continue it. They also told me even if I am abroad i can still continue the MBA from there. But I did not get any details of the same from them. Before my wedding they started sending sum collection agents to my place n with the prospect of continuing the mba from
abroad i paid about 30, 000 to them. but then after marraige ofcoz i cud not continue the mba, in august last year they started sending people to my house in mumbai demanding payment. I went to Mumbai for my delivery in December 2007, before which I had sent 3 emails to ICFAI requesting to discontinue the course since i was going to have a baby n it wud b practically impossible to continue, but again i received no response. I was even willing to pay them the remaining money jus to get rid of them, but they never reverted back. so i jus left things as they were n now they sent sum court order to my parents house, this has really disturbed my parents a lot n i am here in a foriegn country with a baby to care for. Really not sutre how to deal wid this.

Can u plz help me out n gimme sum suggestions?

I had also applied for the MBA course but had to discontinue it on account of the news to the effect that the course was not apporved by appropriate body and it was of no value..I had also asked for clarification as regards to this to ICFAI, however didnt get any reply and now am being threatend dat dey would file a criminal complaint and of the like...However, I intend to lodge a complaint wid consumer forum...We could also give the material to media...

I also agree to this, Icfai is the money making institute rather than a true organisation who wants to spread knowledge. They keep such hectic schedules which is not suitable for doing such a vast course. They have no concerns regarding the pressure students are facing who are enrolled with their institute. Exams occur in every 3 month, in between they take 20 days time to provide results, after that they take 20 days to provide course material and study classes, that means students are left with merely one month of period to prepare for the exams. Even then they are such money makers that they sell even the model question papers available on their sites. They change syllabus and earn some extra money enforcing students to register for the exams which was not on the paper earlier. Where will the students like me go, who is struggling for money, good career and every thing. I dont know were and whom to go, can anybody help.

People Beaware of this SCAM, , ICFAI is a big fraud. You end up paying the entire fees ans you have no option to quit even if you want to do so. They come up with Restructuring of their MBA programs and people who have cleared some groups would have to start from scratch and appear for those exams again and also pay for those exams. Its like you climb the rusted latter a little and ICFAI pulls you back to pavilon with their restructuring programmes which is only ment for them to earn money.. I wonder why dont these people start begging on streets for money instead of fooling poor students. ICFAI SUCKS

You state that you have paid Rs 1, 55, 000/- to ICFAI for the course that you are pursuing. If you have paid that much amount, it will be advisable to complete the program and look ahead for a bright career. You must try to get the best benefit of the payment made.

joined in december 2007, by paying 10, 000 and remaining in EMI(18 cheques) I am working with a company and when the news of ICfai Univ (MS Finance) course not being acknowledged by AICTEE came i decided to withdraw. and that is when the harassment began.I clearly informed them not to present my cheque as i have given stop payment for the cheques which I've given. but the sales people said that it would not be an issue and you could do a stop payment of cheques, and now after that they have issued couple of legal notice. I'm seriously thinking of taking this issue to Press. but does any one know of any one in the press this is a serious issue and should be caterred to

I must tell you'll please dont join ICFAI. They are the biggest cheats i've ever come across. For the guys who are planning for further studies i'd urge you'll to do a regular one. and even i[censored] have to do a correspondence course dont go gor ICFAI. They cheat you your money and you wount be able to withdraw once you join. SO please dont htink of joining ICFAI.

I stated MS finance course from ICFAI Pune.Becouse of some personal problems i discontinued the course and stopped my all paymets.Then i started to get legal notice from ICFAI, mean time i sent notice to universities, about discontinuation of course and even i tried to get confirmation from them also, but in b/w they stoped sending notice for every payment.
Today i got finall notice from them, mentioing that i have to pay al my net due of 45, 000 along with interest rate @18% for them.
I there any suggetions to get my all payments which ever i had done (30, 000.00).
Can anybody know how i can fight or proceed with the issue and come out of it.

ICFAI is the most chipest, sucker & university, me and many of my friends have a very worst experience with ICFAI

I'm unable to continue the course after completing the 1st year. However the entire money for 2nd year also taken by ICFAI. Now they are not supplying the study material for the balance groups and stated that unless otherwise you complete the previous group, we cannot supply the study materials for the forthcoming groups. What is this?. I'm not getting the material for which I have already paid for it. Better don't go to ICFAI.

I really care for your feelings but sorry to say in professional world, if you only care for feelings without being rational, you can't even survive, leave about the growth.

I know that some of you people are in not in right situation because of stress. But first cool your mind and read this. Don't be so excited to reply the comment without even thinking. I am happy to answer all your queries but my first line is "Don't be so sentimental and behave like immature kids..."


I am putting my comments, which you think carefully and then reply. Put yourself in the shoe of an organization.

1. Don't behave like young kids who don't know what is written or can't understand. You had decided to sign the contract without reading it. How many times have you read the details of terms and condition when you are creating an account on free services like yahoo, ebay, etc. You guys are mature enough and legally bound (as you are above 18years) that the decision you make and sign, you have to follow them. If you don't honor the contract, who the hell are you to tell others that this is wrong. If ICFAI helps you and allow dishonoring the contract by considering your issue, it is their social work, but if not, you can't say them fake, wrong. They never do work legally, Finally you are the one, who want to do illegal things by dishonoring any contract and forcing others to do this.

2. About the other case, it is good thing in ICFAI, that they are giving you flexibility in fee payment, and you want to misuse it. You say it wrong because you got the better opportunity and want to leave. Which other college in India and World, gives fee back if you leave the program in between. Take the case of any big college even government college like IIT, IIM. Can you get your money back, say if you leave their program in the middle of the year. You are just misusing this facility so that you are at benefit side always.
If you have committed to honor the Post-dated-cheques as part of your fee, you have to do this. Think, if you are running an organization, and customers do not honor the commitment and all your receivables go into bad debts. How will you survive? Won't you sue them? Say, if somebody commit you on the paper that they will pay you this amount in future, and does not honor then will you happily allow them to not to honor their commitment. Be practical guys, again don't behave like kids.

3. Who did tell you that ICFAI is not a recognized institute by GOI. It is well recognized, even if you know, its runs the best program CFA in India. It is registered with Government of Indian and also approved as Deemed University status.
It is known for its education worldwide. It is the institute, which provide such a reading material, which is even used by institutes like IIMs, ISB, London Business School, Stern and many more prestigious name.

Don't hurt the image of such a prestigious college, which is already very rare in India. Don't you love your country. This is one of the organization, which represents India in abroad and famous for its education, reading material. I sincerely request you guys again, before giving your comments, think twice, thrice, behave like a mature person and then comment on anybody.

I had enrolled for MBA program in 2005, paid rs 10, 000/- as initial payment, and gave 18 pdc's each amounted to Rs 4030/-. I had cleared their 1st three group for which after which i received their certification of Diploma in Business Administraton. Now they are asking me to appear for group B & Group C again as they have changed their syllabus.
My last pdc bounced, which was replaced by payment through my credit card, for which is personally visited their Bandra (Mumbai) office. after the payment they allowed me to register and appear for Group B, C & D (B&C which was i supposed to be appearing again at first place). Now they have withheld my result stating that the payment made through my card is not credited to their a/c. First of all how is it then possible that the amounted debtited frm my account which shows icfai, and the same is reflecting in my cc statement which is have also made payment. I have also confirmed the same with my banker abou the corect credit. That to i personaly visited icfai branch and made the payment.
Inspite of repeated call and emails, icfai seems to be acting dump and have no concern for a students queries. A student who have so much hope for the institute that it will make their career, and the treat us this way, insipte of clearing payment all amt (85000/- approx) our hard earned money

I am also a victim of ICFAI. I studied MBA in ICFAI Kolkata in year[protected]. It was a full time course of two years. They took three lakhs of rupees. Though the study materials and faculty was very good and the system was very nice the people I came across there are horrible. The Dean that time Mr Santanu Roy was really a rogue. One professor Mr Monodip Roy Chowdhury was my project guide in summer internship. During internship faculty members force students to be agents of private insurance companies .Perhaps they have some kind of vested interest in this affair. During my summer internship I joined one organization. Due to unavoidable circumstances in that organization's management I expressed interest to join such a pvt insurance co. That company asked me to join as agent .When I refused to be one they complained to ICFAI. I was about to face disciplinary action from ICFAI Kolkata without any reason when one finance faculty member named Mr Arup Chowdhury, happens to be acquainted to one of my close relative saved me. I know this happens with every student every year.They can only provide substandard placement in Insurance companies and private banks- not suitable/ just for an MBA passout. Most of the students get placed as insurance agents or credit card sellers after 'buying' education for lakhs. ICFAI market it as good placement providers whereas those who are well placed have got it on their own efforts and family references.

Now I have established myself as a professional in IT industry after research in II... Calcutta. ICFAI Kolkata failed to provide me any placement I nurture a strong animosity to ICFAI Kolkata because of people there. I have reccomended my corporate HR department and HR departments of other companies not to consider ICFAI as a recruitment base.


This is one side of the story. I still love professor D P Ghosh, Prof Arup Chowdhury, Prof Ashim Bose, Prof Kalyan Chatterjee. Wherever I am today is chiefly because of ICFAI Kolkata. Learning, education standard and infrastructure was very up to date there when I studied. I could get into II...Calcutta only because of ICFAI Kolkata. Dean was a wonderful finance teacher and a good edu-mentor. I must admit that. He was a good motivator too. I still remember Prof D P Ghosh's lecturers. I am continuing to go on because of ICFAI.

Yes, I was also victim of ICFAI too. But have your guys ever did a study about how this game is played? ICFAI play safe. ICFAI will be no where in picture after u r enrolled when it comes to inst payments. It is the Finance company and you who appear in court.

The finance is provided by the third party and not ICFAI personal finance. So, they are playing safe.

The only way to get out of this is on 'MEDICAL GROUNDS'. Submit all your medical records to be eligible to withdraw the studies. Once you get confirmation that you are no more ICFDAI student then you can inturn sue the finance team for harassing and causing further health problem by NOTICE and calls etc...

i have gone through a mental trauma by joining MBA program at ICFAI .


they are a big time cheaters they promised me with so many thing and gave me a false impression of the course structure.like-------
1)they told me that i can opt for dual degree which they denied later by saying that it is not possible.

2)they did not told me about the training classes that it is available only for three groups, which was also below par.

3)they told me only what payments to be made but when i realised that they charged me for job placement, which i did not want at all, i requested them to refund my fees for that but they simply denied.

4)they told me that my internship will begun immidietly after my c group at the place where i m studying but it was offered very late that too in hyderabad at our own cost for a month which is impossilbe.

there are so many more things. but could not get any help.

i think all o[censored]s should together form a group and take some actions againts them.

this is the height of disparaging education.

My name is Karthikeyan and I got enrolled into an MBA program from ICFAI under enrollment number MBA2086744. I paid Rs. 10000 as advance payment and for remaining fee I opted for EMI payment of fees of Rs. 4030/month for 18 months. I had two cheques at the time and the sales guy from ICFAI forced me that that particular day was the last date and told me that I can give two cheques, one for the first EMI of Rs. 4030 and the next cheque for Rs. 68000 as a promise note that i will replace this cheque with 17 cheques for Rs. 4030/month within a month.

Sir This 68000 includes EMI for two years interest for the fees.

I fell for this trap and gave the cheque. I replaced the cheque for Rs. 68000 with 17 cheques for Rs. 4030 within one month as promised. At the time of submission of cheque, they said, i need to submit a new application form. I refused and just gave the cheques asking them to replace the original cheque with this.

I wrote a mail also to this effect requesting them to replace the cheques submitted and not to deposit the Rs. 68000 cheque. I stopped payment for this 68000 rs. cheque also. But now in a whole twist, a gangster of collection executives are visiting my parents in Chennai and demanding payment for this Rs. 68000 cheque.They are roughing up my parents and twisting the whole plot.

This Rs. 68000 includes interest for two years and even after replacing I am subject to humiliation. Why should i pay interest if they demand all payment at once.

Sirs, Imagine how an education institution is employing rogues and treat students like this. I have no interest in pursuing this course and I want to discontinue. I have not written any exams and do not plan to do so.

Even Supreme Court has restrained Credit Card companies cannot torture defaulters. I am not a defaulter as i have replaced the cheques and the previous cheque was given as a safeguard.

I would like:

Now i have no intention to pursue this course. I would like to discontinue and I am being tortured by this institution. I have paid Rs, 14030 already for this course. I do not want to get this money back. But I don't want to pay any more money to this institution.

Sirs,

In this country, I need your help in taking note of such institutions roughing up students for money and commercializing education. Request your help in saving me and helping me get out of this trap. I do not want any rogues visiting my home and demand payment.

I want to seek legal justice against this torture and I do not want rogues troubling my parents. Request your intervention and help me in fighting a legal case against this honorable educational institution.

I have enrolled in MCA program ( Distance learning program) in kolkata on july 2006 and from 2006 to
jan 2008 i have given 6 times exams but not passed. all time
they published exam marks which i think not correct , may be
intensionally made student failed so that they can earn exam
fees every time. They have taken the whole course fees of Rs. 54,000/- whereas other university/institution takes it
semiestarwise of 6 months and after completion of 1st semiestar
, they take the fees of 2nd semiestar. but ICFAI taken all
semiestar fees. They only spend for me that 8 books and one month class.
Can anyone help me so that i can get my money back. If ICFAI
want to deduct money from Rs. 54,000/- then also O.K. But I want some refund because I don't want to continue, may be
there standard is higher than calcutta university or sikkim manipal university etc. because some of my friends gone through final year of MCA program in sikkim manipal and there qualification and standard are more or less same like me.

But they said they have returned my consignment on 10-July-2010. They didnot wait for me, In that case I am unable to doing my studies of Group B.

I want to request you to please send my consignment again as soon as possible, with that please change my contact no. in your account- [protected],[protected] instead of [protected] cause my that no. has lost.


With that Could you please change Courier Company for sending my further consignments cause BLUEDART is not located in my city & they dont intimate me properly and not able to provide services in my home city. Here is FIRST FLIGHT & ONDOT, DDT courier services available.
